@joeycastillo what app?
It's 5:49 PM Eastern and I'm glad you are alive.
Thanks for being here with me.
I love you.
Welp. One year late, I managed to get my @hackaday #supercon badge hack working, just by looking at it with fresh eyes for 15 minutes. The thing that kills me: I designed the hardware right, and I got it built in time, AND the software was essentially correct. If not for a one-bit configuration error, I could have presented this demo on stage.
So I completely forgot to take still images of our booth preview for @makemagazine Maker Faire Bay Area this weekend, so here are some screenshots from an instagram live I did yesterday! We’re bringing a ton of stuff - from kits to fancy breadboards to breadboard helpers to I Voted pins (yes those are circuit boards eith LEDs of course)! Check out this little appetizer. :)
I always kinda felt bad that people who get an OG Jumperless from me in person miss out on the stenciled outer wrapping paper.
So if you get one from @alpenglow at @makemagazine (er Faire Bay Area) this weekend, they'll be packed with glittery hand painted paper instead of bubble wrap.
Planting an LED garden.
I have a few 6x6x6 LED cubes in stock.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the livestream with @crowdsupply , it was so nice seeing so many familiar handles in the comments! If you couldn’t catch it live, you can now catch it on the replay. It’s very audio-only-friendly until the very end where I show some stuff we’ll have at Maker Faire Bay Area next week!
I’m live-streaming tomorrow with @crowdsupply ! I can’t wait, I’m going to talk about hardware event organizing with @helenleigh and yes I’m also going to throw in analogous stuff from yarn event organizing because it’s me. Join us tomorrow Oct 10 at 12pm Pacific! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbhctNyEAb8
OKAY WOW I'm late in posting this today, but it's finally happening: Sensor Watch Pro is live on @crowdsupply! It's the best and most advanced version of Sensor Watch yet, packing a tri-color RGB LED, infrared light sensor, loud-as-hell voltage boost for the beepy piezo buzzer, and an accelerometer sensor add-on board. Check it out and I hope you'll consider backing the project! https://www.crowdsupply.com/oddly-specific-objects/sensor-watch-pro

Next, job hunting support! I am surviving month-to-month with several creative income streams, but I do wish for a stable, quality tech job. I am taking my time because I need the *right* job.
I've recently re-done my resume and website. I'd love:
- Being pointed at suitable jobs
- Getting recommended to good people
- An understanding that I need a supportive, neurodivergent-friendly space
- Resume feedback (gentle and supportive)
- Professional support generally

@joeycastillo community is everything!
you know how they say if you're stuck, to sleep on it? last night I reached a stopping point with a text display API that I wasn't wild about, but then I tossed it to the Sensor Watch discord chat. overnight, folks discussed and one suggested something way better that I was able to implement first thing this morning. Community is everything; you'll never make it on your own.
If anyone was wondering about the tokenization I referred to in my last post, here’s the thread I wrote about it last year.

I had this same experience two years ago, saw that no effort was made last year, plus that whole cool thing where they decided to tokenize my 2022 talk as an example of their “diversity” right before 2023’s event. . Which is why I’m also not attending Supercon anymore. If you want to catch an epic hacker con that’s incredibly fun and has a variety of talks, topics, and people, I suggest Teardown.
