Finished V2 of the truncated icosahedron, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. The sides are 32 hexagonal and pentagonal PCBs, joined by 3D printed corner connectors and covered with 3D printed diffusers. The pixels are mapped and it's running 3D animation patterns on a #pixelblaze.

Back from vacation to find some new shiny holographic stickers waiting for me. Which do you prefer: glitter on the left or solid on the right?

Truncated Icosahedron project rev. 2 is in progress, and I'm much happier with this version. It's less (but still somewhat) fiddly to assemble and has 3x the LEDs!

Hey soldering kit makers! Struggling with new coin cell regulations and have a pile of PCBs with coin cell battery holder patterns on them? I made a thing for ours that converts them to USB power, maybe it's handy for you. Ship this instead of a CR2032 holder and boom, your kit no longer contains or uses a coin cell, no compliance needed. It's designed for side-slide style holders (SMT or through-hole) and easy to solder.
