Has anyone taken a moment to remind you how amazing you are today?

Because it's totally true. You really are something special.

Thank you for being here with us, for sharing your wisdom and your jokes and your knowledge with us all.

It's 9:13 AM Eastern and I'm glad you're alive.

The thing about having a lot of high flying, overachiever friends and coworkers is that sometimes you don’t think you’re doing enough until you run into someone who’s just like, “at night I’m going to eat some pizza and sit on the couch”, and you’re like - “wait, no language lessons? No flight school? No excessive gym time? Not traveling to an event somewhere? People DO THAT, regularly? Wow, I guess I could take a night off someday.”

It’s like, I tear myself to pieces when I’m not in the top nn% of the race on my exercise bike workout, and then I realize I’m actually more physically fit than nn% of the people who own and use a Peloton regularly. Be careful who you’re setting your standard of “normal” against. Either too low, or too high for you.

#OpenBook kits are available, in very limited quantity! PLEASE LIMIT ONE PER CUSTOMER! It kills me that I only have six of them ready, but until I can do more, I want to spread them out. shop.oddlyspecificobjects.com/

Blade is thin and a little flexible; this is kind of meant for kitchen use or light game/fishing perhaps. $300; order soon and you can pick the sheath color and options. DM me for his email address.

@heckinteagan it's close enough to sharp and the buffer likes to rip it from your hands and throw it in a random direction.

Your body covers a pretty wide arc of potential random directions.

This is legit the most dangerous step in the process: buffing to a mirror polish:

I did the 240 grit pass and it's starting to look good; I love doing finish work on knives. Watching them becoming a knife.

Even. More. Hand. Sanding.

Oh, and this is just the first grit; it will require at least one more at a finer grit before it's done:

I need to stop being intimidated by the next steps on this project and get started on it again:

Visiting my folks and I got to see Dad working on another knife:

Probably $300 when finished depending on what he does to it as he finishes it; if he gets fancy it may go up a bit.

Here's a video of one of the machines I built for my boys all lit up and animating:

It's 11:38AM Eastern and I'm glad you are alive.

I know that sometimes it's hard but the effort is worth it.

You are worth it.

You are worthy.

I'm trying to do what I guess is a “content marketing” thing? Thing where I show you how to do cool stuff with the tech that I'm selling. Anyway this week's project is an Adafruit-adjacent Learn Guide: building a battery-powered Neopixel Christmas tree, with an LCD FeatherWing and a one-button UI. Hope to have it ready to publish tomorrow or Monday; just finalizing the CircuitPython code now.
