New project log on the Open Book’s @hackaday page! This one is a deep dive into four-year old miscalculations, the cost of making a gadget and the margin required to make it sustainably, and how two different versions of the Open Book have tried to thread the needle. I poured heart and soul into this one. hackaday.io/project/168761-the

Mega super thanks to @MakeAugusta for these panels of Oddly Specific STEMMA-QT LCD boards! This is a new variant of the LCD FeatherWing, but instead of a Feather form factor, if has the STEMMA/Qwiic connectors that we all know and love. Testing one panel of 10 tonight that I’ll have on the Oddly Specific shop this week; after that, I plan to reach out to @adafruit to see if they want to stock them as well. We made 250 of them, which feels like a respectable first run :)

It's been awhile since I last reminded you that I love you.

I love you.

I know it's not always easy but we're not alone; we're in this together.

We got this!

Today is a fantastic day to hang with a trans friend and help her modify her PS5 controller; these things are amazing examples of engineering!

"What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer; a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim."

Working on the LED cuff bracelet design. Trying different sizes and shapes for different sized wrists. I plan to add a few more components to the LED matrix for wearable safety and convenience in the next set of prototypes, but I think the structural part of the design is almost done. It's fun to try them all out in #pixelblaze follower mode!

Today is one of those days where I am filled with so much appreciation for the amazing people I have in my life and I just want to say thank you for being here with me.

It's been awhile since I last reminded you that I love you.

I love you.

Remember it's still Rather a Lot out there and it has been that way for a LONG time now.

Be kind to yourself and each other.

I'm sitting down to assemble the LED box kit from @alpenglow, which I plan to use to store LED jewelry. The pieces are cut from cedar veneer, and they smell surprisingly good!

@Blenster Empowering others through our words and actions is a remarkable way to create a ripple effect of positivity in the world. When we lift others up, we not only amplify their voices but also foster a culture of empathy and support. Let's make it a habit to express our care and appreciation for one another. Together, we can make kindness the norm and contribute to a more compassionate and inclusive society. Spread the message, lift others up, and let kindness be our guiding light.

If you're "handed the mic" (metaphorically speaking) and use that opportunity to lift others up consistently you will get handed the mic more often.

Speak for those who need their voices boosted.

Tell people that you care about them; don't make them guess.

Be kind to each other.

Does anyone have good resources for learning to use JIRA effectively? Especially with R4J and Zephyr Scale.

Thank you very much for any tips y'all have.

Today is a complicated day for many reasons; if you're struggling today know that I am thinking of you and pulling for you.
