Finally doing an #Introduction here. I'm Eric, and I'm a #data scientist working on #marketing and content analytics for a media company. Previously, I was doing #ComputationalBiology of the human #Microbiome using network-based methods. I have soft spots for #OpenSource software tools and data, #Education, #InformalEducation, #Healthcare, #Libraries, #Math, and #Museum. Seeing admins sharing their statistics (user growth, storage space used, bandwidth usage), I think is important to showing everyone what it takes to run a service for a community.

It pulls back the curtains at that work in IT, systems administration, networking engineers, programming, and similar occupations do in a tangible way.

Also (for better or worse) why some popular online companies go through as much money as they do to keep things running.

Let me introduce myself! My name is Ilenna Jones, I am a computational neuroscientist with keen interest on how dendrites contribute to a singular neuron's ability to compute functions and learn tasks. I build biophysical models of neurons in #pytorch and use #deeplearning principles to investigate how #neuron models can learn and compute given their biologically realistic constraints.

My Veil Nebula. This one was a 2 panel, about 20 hours per panel. 10 hours each panel of 5nm OIII and H-a Astrodon filters for a Bi-colour finish. Taken through my Sky-Watcher Esprit 100mm Apo.
Mosaics are not really my thing, matching the panels was not fun. Haven't done another since..
