I guess an introduction is in order. I'm an analytical scientist by background and I'm currently Head of Research and Development at a Nano-tech company, in the UK.

I care a LOT about supporting the mental health of researchers in academia, industry and beyond. I recently wrote a book "Managing Your Mental Health During Your PhD: A Survival Guide" to try to support those who might be struggling.

I'm a Research Fellow in Physics at the University of Bristol, interested in the structure and properties of liquids, particularly under extreme high-pressure or temperature conditions, with applications in emerging energy technologies, industrial melt processing, volcanism, and planetary formation.

I care about improving equity and mental health in research and higher education.

Outside of work I have three daughters who keep me busy. I quite like the simple things in life.

The whole story started during a COVID lockdown when I discovered an Eiffel Tower made of bed springs in my neighbourhood in Berlin

This is now known on Google Maps as the Tempelhofer Eiffelturm (it’s at Bergholzstrasse 11)
