Sustainable development requires mitigating ecological degradation therefore also mitigating #ClimateChange & its associated drivers such as pollution & habitat degradation. This account will not “sugar-coat” the required level of changes needed for humanity to reverse the trend of human-caused ecological degradation.
Historically, & presently, climate change is mitigating humanity (e.g., increases in the frequency & intensity of heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, sea level rise, flash floods, pathogen outbreaks, etc)

It needs some work.
I'm interested in the scuttlebutt P2P protocol as that's more decentralised & more secure than the fediverse (a Mastodon instance can close down without warning, admin are often non known agents, etc)
From what l have read, there is a personal digital identity feature on scuttlebutt. Generally, scuttlebutt is more of a no trust network. In other words, people control their own account not some corporation or admin of an instance.

Scuttlebut & the fediverse both have many clients (software apps). However, Scuttlebut is a social network built on the peer-to-peer SSB protocol.

Some, not so smart folk, lie on social media (who knew) as they do offline. Even too themselves #VirtueSignaling
Without going into detail why they do this, here is an effective psychological heuristic to mitigate online folk BS (context #science). Give all online folk the benefit of our doubts. Take them at their word (face value). If their words are scientifically BS, so be it.
If their "wit" is actually unethical grandstanding, so be it.
You're looking at the problems not the solutions to those problems.
1. The policies need to be updated because many people can't afford to buy land - so as to improve it's ecological condition.
Then, and only then, when more people are living low ecological impact lifestyles, will we see the necessary reductions in the countries net greenhouse gas emissions.

Some folk would call me "white" (presently, my skin tone is more of a lighter shade of brown as it's been summer in the UK)
However, my ancestors that lived in Africa had a natural darker skin tone than me (e.g., a more darker shade of brown). But, my ancestors then migrated north.
If it wasn't for racists, & if l had the choice, l'd choose to be "black" (a darker skin tone protects my skin better from solar radiation).
