Do people who think the Russian war in Ukraine should be ended for "humanitarian" reasons not understand what is happening in Russian-occupied Ukraine? They haven't read about the torture chambers? The mass murders? Deportation of thousands of children?

In occupied Ukraine, an even uglier, bloodier and more terrifying humanitarian crisis is unfolding, much worse than the bomb damage you can swe on television. You want to make that crisis permanent? You want more people to die?

FWIW, Pleroma and Friendica don't have this bug when they MDown.

I'll get to filing eventually.

There was a poll back in November 2022, and I'd like to see if anything has shifted in February 2023.

This account has a website where you can find answers to lots and lots of common questions about Mastodon and the Fediverse:

➡️ fedi.tips

You don't need to wait for me to randomly post something useful. The website has lots of hints, tips and tutorials you can browse right now.

If you can't find the answers you need on the site, ask me and I'll reply! :blob_cat:

Okay, perhaps I should back up a bit. I am working on a project to use unlisted toot/post threads, large clusters of them, as a CMS (content management system).

I am calling it CALISTA (Community Authored Large Integrated Status Thread Array).

Let's take the example of a Calista blog. There will be a thread containing a set of posts (like a menu) that will lead you to other threads which each perform a function, like "About", "Archive", "Recent Posts", "Tags", "Staff", etc.

And each function thread may have levels of complexity too. Essentially we are simulating an actual blog site in a simple way.

The advantage over the website version of a blog is that, because it is totally composed of posts, the Calista blog is instantly shareable, as a whole or individual blogpost. Commenting is trivial, and comments travel with the blogpost wherever it is shared.

Similar projects (a wiki, a forum, weather forecaster, bulletin boards, news aggregator, etc.) are also possible.

"_stitch_", the bot I described to you, would be needed to make certain attachments in Calista work right. It's posts will be blank or trivial, but they will show up all throughout the Calista complex, bring visibility and possibly good reputation to botsin.space.

Sorta like having floor tiles (posts) with your brand on it all over a building (Calista). The building is months away from grand opening to the public.

@freemo

Will it be part of your Mastodon API so a bot can use it?

Is the feature that Masto 4 has coming to soon?

@freemo

I ask because I am about to embark on a project that will regularly require I edit existing toots w/o deleting.

What would be the best Linux distro for non tech savvy elderly family members? I can't find any blog post that is not over 5 years old
