Education is about changing humans. When our students leave our classrooms, we expect they can do things, see things, and think things they could not before the class. If our students leave with their abilities unchanged, then they (and we) have wasted their time and energy and money while there.

A colleague from SIB in Bern (CH) said this:

I'm using more and more #vscode for #rstats instead of the beloved #rstudio. Why? Because:

- I can have *multiple* R consoles
- Remote working is easy peasy lemon squeezy
- There's a code linter while I type
- There's syntax highlighting *in the console* with radian
- Running code in a #docker or #singularity container is like taking candy from a baby
- It has awesome #git integration
