America’s legal system today
I want to practice law:
—You need a 4 year Bachelors, take the LSAT, then a 3 year JD, then pass the BAR, buy malpractice insurance, & total cost is ~$300K
I want to enforce the law:
—Here’s paid 13-week training & a gun
I want to write the law:
—No qualifications needed and a billionaire can buy you a seat
Coincidentally, a friend recently went to an ER in France. They spent all day there getting treated, were handed a month of antibiotics to take after for healing and let go.
The entire bill was around $35.
We recently did an ER visit with four hours of observation, and everything was fine. A couple months later, the bills came up to around $1,200 for one ER visit with full family PPO insurance coverage at an in-network hospital.
The Dilbert guy hasn't exactly kept his white nationalism a secret, but he finally came out and called for the resegregation of the U.S., and in response *hundreds* of newspapers cancelled his garbage comic strip this weekend. He believes that zero newspapers will carry his strip by Monday. I hope he's right. https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2023/02/25/scott-adams-dilbert-canceled/

Doug Ford believes he can do what he wants with his majority. So he attacks those who question what he’s doing? He keeps on stepping over the line and evading accountability. At what point are ethical lapses and lies revealed to be corruption that is unacceptable for a government, majority or not?

You know what I want social media for? To tell people their projects rock. Made a cool diorama? I support it. Great woodworking project? F*** yeah. Garden's looking good? Great job, friend. Painting turned out how you wanted it? Or close? Love it. That's what makes me happy. Telling you the things that make you happy rock.
"On Tuesday, the premier said “regarding my family matters, my family is separate from the political process. They aren’t involved.”
However, the reception seating chart shows crossover between the peprsonal and political in Ford’s Ontario that extends beyond developers, to provincial appointees and to those who occupy positions aimed at influencing government. The premier’s office did not respond to requests for comment for this story."
Jordan Peterson Finds TYRANNY In The Toilet
It's worth mentioning that #JordanPeterson is one of the top voices in Canada for the #FarRight #15MinuteCities conspiracy/fever dream. Here he is finding #Tyranny in the toilet. You fools. You laughably ridiculous fools.
College professor, part time nerd and sci-fi enthusiast. Not actually a duck, but what’s Humphrey Bogart got that I ain’t got?
