@AmpBenzScientist @freemo, the DE is a weird weapon. I was armament in the army, and although we didn't have manuals for the DE, our shop was full of fairly qualified guys. We futzed around with that thing for months, and never did get it perfect.

@freemo , so NOT a great weapon for self defense.... I doubt it didn't misfeed every other magazine.... Even with the best ammo.

@freemo They have issues, misfeeds, very sensitive to exactly the right loads, etc. But amazingly accurate. I used to have much better eyesight, and there is no way I could do this today, but I put a 10 inch shot group in at 400yds (roughly) with the 357 and 8 inch barrel. Guys I was with thought I was lying... they couldn't see the target. I made them get it for me.

@freemo Desert Eagle in all three calibres. Same frame, different uppers in a kit, all don't in nickel finish. For the rifle, a Barret I think.... not for practicality, but just the sheer joy of being able to reach out and touch someone from a mile or more away.

Now on a budget, useful weapons, not toys... I'm pretty happy with my Remington new army, 1858. I might like another, but with the 12 inch barrel in stainless, and the detachable stock. For a rifle, I am seriously thinking about that KelTek SU19 or the Henry A7. I like light weight collapsible weapons that can still do what they are meant to do. Something that you can pack.

@freemo , a Streetsweeper is a big pistol, with 12 rounds, semi auto, and it's kinda cuddly.

@freemo Shotgun. although your 410 will do it, I suggest a 12 gauge.

@freemo Yep! For mob bosses, I suggest something long range...

@freemo , another on my list, and I will only get one, is the Henry AR7. 22 long rifle, and incredibly lightweight. But... I am that aberration... I once came out my door to find my yard full of pigs. I seriously feared for my life. And a 22 probably wouldn't have done the trick. As it was, I had NOTHING, and ran for my car.

@freemo, what I don't have anymore is a good rifle. I had an AR way back in the day, like the early 80s. And always kinda wanted another. But anymore, I just hate the stigma around them, even if it is totally unjustified. So, I'll stick with the 556, and a different style. Once the bullet comes out, it really doesn't matter what the rifle looks like.

@freemo , yep. The perfect varmint gun, really. Cheap to buy, cheap for ammo, large enough calibre that you can hunt small game, pretty accurate. I am seriously considering an SU16, by KelTek. I know, they have a bad rep, but that weapon seems to be an exception to the rule.

@freemo I'm going to go with the 556, because I have a small farm. Just a damn useful tool.

@freemo , that's a problem. It's kinda rare that a fox in the henhouse will give you time to find eye protection!

@freemo , agreed. I was wondering if it hurt to fire...

I am not a fan of concealed carry. I think many of those guys are looking for trouble, or at a minimum not avoiding places where trouble will be. I would open carry... my daily carry is an 1858 Remington New Army. I CAN hide it in my kilt... but just carry on my belt.

@freemo , to clarify, if you only had the option to own one....

Just looked up options for the Judge... and I like the Circuit Judge. Damn! I want to see some test firing... But that has to be good out to 200 yards or so.

@freemo , nice. How do you think the Judge compares to a .357 Python?

@freemo ya, I know. I had 512K of ram on my Amiga, upgraded to 1M! I remember a buddy bragging he had 32M in the mid 90s, and my windows machine had 8M. The cluster I built in 2002 had 512M per node... 40 nodes. Your machine is INSANE. And I love it.
