@Pat true enough. But it was stable a few minutes earlier. It’s a cheap mirror telephoto, good for the reach, but very finicky sometimes.

Camera optics went wonky during ingress, not sure what happened other than using a cheap telephoto.

Some technical problems at Griffith with the high magnification optics but the final few seconds of #Mars' ingress made it into the live stream - thank you so much for this service! Especially since we in Europe had to wait for another 2 1/2 hours for 'our' ingress. ;-)

Tonight the Moon passed between us and the planet Mars. At the last minute I decided to try to get pictures despite the below zero temperatures. Here's one of the good ones.

Proposal to stop referring to covid in the past tense and climate change in the future tense.
