@paul the irony is I just paid my subscription for Tweetbot today for the first time (I had held onto the previous no subscription version for a while).
@mace hard to tell these days, isn’t it?
“Mansplaining as a service.” Spot on.

Twitter API appears to be down, breaking Tweetbot and third-party clients https://9to5google.com/2023/01/12/twitter-api-appears-to-be-down-breaking-tweetbot-and-third-party-clients/
@mace it’s not Tweetbot, looks like Twitter killed third-party API access, either on purpose or through incompetence.
One of my tips here on #Mastodon is to liberally block people who are trolling. I used to strive for understanding and engagement, thinking I could win a troll over to a more empathetic and sensible course. Here, I don't get trolled often, but the moment someone seems me post about leaving Twitter and suggests I'm censoring others or against the First Amendment, that's an easy block. I'm fine being challenged, but if someone attacks rather than engages, block away! You'll be happier for it!
@ivory so how many seconds was this TestFlight open? :)
Huge discovery, totally outdoes JWST’s work this year! ;) http://xkcd.com/2717
Actually cannot believe this. After 13 years, Sony/BMG have decided to take down Rick Astley's "Never gunna give you up" due to a dispute with Youtube over ad royalties.
It's completely blocked globally. Actual end of an era.
@vegetablegremlin well played.
@trinsec Not under this parka. But yeah, it might be a bit…. Invigorating out there.
This story about a newly-elected Republican house member lying about basically every detail of his background is bonkers. Probably would have been a good idea for the Times to look into this before the election, though? https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/19/nyregion/george-santos-ny-republicans.html
