I think its a lot less than mngrif thinks. If you go to the map of the fediverse they track how much instances federate with each other, it is called the insularity rate. Ours is actually a lot higher than most instances suggesting we federate with more instances than most.

What i think he is forgetting is you are probably blocked on most instances you go to you just dont find out till much later. Either your on an instance that blocks heavily or you are blocked by others for not blocking. Either way half the fediverse will be blocked to you. But since most instances dont make their block list public you will never know
