I'm thinking of switching over from Eclipse to IntelliJ, because of the number of people suggesting it. I'm wondering, are there any reasons that I shouldn't? Eclipse seems to be the one everyone is introduced to first, and I'm sure there's a reason why that's still happening.
@Kovaelin it's pretty good for java development and there are genuinely good eclipse bindings: the transition was really painless.
@Kovaelin IDK why people get eclipse first. possibly a combo of the fact that eclipse is free (as in beer) while IntelliJ wants a license fee + institutional gravity

You must instead join the church of emacs. The easiest path is catholic spacemacs.
Even blasVIMy is preferable to absolutely proprietary halfwitiJ.
