I am finding it really helpful for educators to have the chance to talk to each other & learn together about . My goal is to give you that opportunity as we look at how this works & what we can do with it as educators. Curiosity over fear!

Interesting items to ponder...

Who defines when an idea is 'stupid'?
And if that idea is just along the continuum of design to a better end result, who is to say the starting idea is not worth pursuing?

Because personally, I would purchase guacamole from a drone right now if I could - take my money.

Happy Friday!

My 5 for 5 email drip series for our high school faculty started this morning.

You are welcome to follow along - bit.ly/NHSTE5for5-0123

For 5 mornings an email goes out and there will be new information available in the presentation.

At the end of the series (Fri, Jan 20) - I will open up the slide deck for anyone to make their own copy.

@edutooters

I have updated the slide deck for "AI - A Discussion for Education" this morning. At some point I will need to restructure this deck, but it is still a great place for you to start. It is a fast-moving topic. bit.ly/AI-EDU-Discussion

Tomorrow (Jan 13) I will be starting a 5 for 5 email drip series for our high school faculty (5 days, 1 email per day). It's an AI and ChatGPT in EDU primer of sorts. Once that gets started, I'll share the link so you can follow along - and at the end I'll share the slide deck for those that may want to use it within their own schools. Stay tuned for that.

Fake Voices: The Ethics of Deepfakes
(MIT App Inventor)
"In this unit, students explore synthetic media by creating a smartphone app that can speak in different voices by changing the rate and pitch of the speech. Students work in groups to present arguments about the possible future impacts of various types of media, including ones in commerce and assistive technology as well as those used in crime.

Educators can use this lesson to introduce students to , provide a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and prompt students to predict the possible future use and abuse of synthetic media in society."

If you are having discussions in your spaces regarding and - maybe this slide deck can help. I have assembled a bunch of resources in a pretty decent structure. As I find things, they get added - time to get those chats started!
