@codepuppy I'm autistic so I am awful with social cues too. Don't ever worry about making me annoyed or uncomfortable. I'll tell you if there is anything wrong. It is in my nature to be quite blunt about such things (unfortunately for the people around me)

You seem like a really lovely person to be honest, so don't worry so much! :)

@art I haven't really looked at those before. What sorts of things can you do with them? I'm especially interested in anything that could be used for medical tech. Would it be worth my while learning how to use something like this?

Just a reminder how small and affordable computers are here is my #RaspberryPi zero next to an AA battery for scale. This Pi was bought for $1.

Please consider this: you have choices all day long about how you treat people. Every interaction can be kind, or it can be cruel, and the choice you make will have an effect on people you’ll never meet. Make a choice that you’ll feel good about.

My grandfather was son of a jewish mother and in the Wehrmacht. A year ago I got his picture diary and I decided to make it accessible to the internet. I left it mostly uncommented.

@n@mastodon.technology I LOVE your photos! Your birds are so colourful where you are. It's quite amazing, seeing them eating fruit in the trees. I really love the picture of the meadowlark. It looks like a sensitive wee soul there. Do you have a favourite bird amongst all of these beauties?

I wouldn't mind trying to take some photos sometime though I don't think I could do the birds justice. They are usually playing king of the castle, or chasing one another and I don't think a still image of that could ever quite capture the moment. Watching six starlings swinging upside down on an empty feeder for fun is probably more of a movie moment, daft little sods 🤔

The birds will also come en masse to peck and kick at my father in laws study window when the feeders are empty because they know he will come get me and I'll come out and refill them. They have me really well trained now 😂

Just got sent this by my father in law. He knows me pretty well ❤️ Interesting article 😁

@n@mastodon.technology Oh I'd love to see hummingbirds! We don't have those here. I have a lot of cheerful cold climate birds that I cater for. I really enjoy watching starlings running around in the grass feeding their young and generally being boisterous. I know they aren't conventionally popular birds but they are so full of life and funny. They are happy to share the garden with the other birds too. One of them even has a sparrow that climbs on its chest to get to the feeder. My garden appears to be Switzerland for any bird conflicts 😂

I have water trays out for my birds too. It's quite amazing how they will come to a garden even if there is no food, just so they can splash around in fresh water. They have a normal birdbath and a shoe tray I picked up from Ikea that I keep on the ground so they can share it with any hedgehogs that pass through. Ground feeding birds and sparrows love that one. I have seen fifteen at a time playing in it.

I could probably go on about birds all day. This is about the point people start glazing over and changing the subject. 😬 (Birds are amazing though! I hope you do the nest boxes ❤️)

Reasons I love #games

For everyone there is at least one game they would enjoy.
I play grand strategy games for one and a half decade, played shooters in the 90s love indie games with neat mechanics, cool artwork or just nice ideas.
I played Mechwarrior Online exessively in 2015/16 and met the nicest people. We had not much in common than speaking at least a bit of english and playing games.
I met a dozen americans, a scot, a englishman, a czech guy, two french, australians, austrians and one guy from spain. I met an ukrainian who became best buddies with a russian bloke.
Games can change your live when you are a part of an inclusive and cool group of people. They are normal people and you learn that really the most people you will ever meet are nice.
Whatever you like to play I hope you enjoy your time with it. I hope it enriches your life or gives you a new perspective.

@n@mastodon.technology You won me over with :) I forgot to put them on my list of interests with my introduction but I love them! I take great pleasure in making sure my garden visitors want for nothing.

Currently I'm looking at building winter roosts for them and the bats that visit since the weather can get pretty hostile here. Do you do anything like that yourself?

@bigkafka What sort of work do you think you might do to help refugees and help with climate crisis prevention? It's a really noble thing for you to be doing and you should definitely follow your heart if you think you can make a difference. Not enough people do, that is for sure.

Hello Mastodon, I'm a newbie here and I'd love to know how many #eds #ehlersdanlossyndrome are there ? Hope to see more eds and #spoonie friends here 😋

@andylu This is not far off what I will be doing except I will be taking a bit longer over it. It's quite intensive but very interesting stuff. I am spoken for for quite some time.
