15,281 people.
As of this morning, 15,281 people have died from COVID-19 since the CDC relaxed their mask guidance.
That's more than 500 people per day who thought they were safe, but died because the CDC gave them bad advice.
@freemo
Yes, I know that. The point is that with 50%+ of the population vaccinated, the rates should be falling drastically, but they aren't, because everyone who believed the CDC let down their guard and stop wearing masks and gathered without social distancing and now more people are dying because of it.
Also, what kind of fools stop fighting a war (or stop using their most effective weapons to date) while people are being killed at a rate of 500 people per day? That's insane.
People have died because of what they did.

> The point is that with 50%+ of the population vaccinated, the rates should be falling drastically, but they aren't
But they are, a 62% drop in infection rate in less than a month 38% drop in death rate is absolutely huge.
You also fail to address the fact that the infection rate AND death rate dropped at a **faster** rate after the CDC announcement revoking the mask mandate than it did before.
> CDC let down their guard and stop wearing masks and gathered without social distancing and now more people are dying because of it.
The above data suggests not only is this untrue, but the exact opposite is true, that the CDC's choice has in fact saved lives, not taken it (or at the very least had no negative effect).
> Also, what kind of fools stop fighting a war (or stop using their most effective weapons to date) while people are being killed at a rate of 500 people per day? That's insane.
This isnt a war in the usual sense (obviously). The big difference here is that the people who die in a war are real time, when it comes to a virus there is a delayed effect. People will continue to die and be infected even once the war is won. In some cases the numbers can never be expected to reach 0.
To give you an idea at current numbers COVID deaths are only 3x higher than influenza deaths and still dropping rapidly. At the current rate within another month or two the death rate from covid should be no higher than that of influenza.

The biggest take away from this is the death toll is going down **very** fast, and is going down **faster** since the mask mandate was rescinded... everything contradicts your fears and assertions stated here.
