Friend: My crew of 6 put in 10 hours each today
Me: Thats nothing, I put in 60 hours today just by myself
Friend: How is that even possible!?
Me: Multi-tasking!
@freemo
Was that multithread or multiprocess?
@Pat I can immediately tell you are a python guy :)
Not really. Thread support has been in the kernel since post-2.6.
(You do realize that multiprocessing IRL requires that you have multiple personality disorder?)
@Pat yea but in python its the only place where multithreading means you cant utilize multiple cpus... so multiprocess becomes needed
Oh, I didn't know that. I thought the mutlicore processors could handle multithreading natively.
@Pat from the OS perspective it can.. the limitation is specific to python and onnly python.
