@gwr so Germany has become allergic to the self-evident truth now has it?
It still gets me the Bible Jesus is a homeless socialist with brown skin, hangs out with 12 dudes and a Prostitute, tells rich people to pay their taxes and give their wealth to the poor, tells the religious leaders that they need to love everyone equally, gets a whip and goes hog on people using religion to sell stuff, and then straight up gets murdered for these beliefs. Yet somehow churches act like he's some kind of Conservative Haircut in khakis and a button up, who would support cutting welfare programs, and would preach Prosperity Gospel.
I couldn't give a flying fuck!!!
Maybe it's about time the government implemented something like we have in Luxembourg where everyone is entitled to full pay when off sick. Statutory sick pay in Britain is a "sick" joke. It's time Britain did better - VERY MUCH BETTER!
Scotland is a truly remarkable country. We are told by the media that post-independence there will be a deficit and this is a bad thing (though very few countries *don't* operate a debt). At the same time, we are told that as a *pre-independent* country if we run a surplus it must be referred to as an ‘underpsend’, and that this also is a bad thing. Scotland is the only country in the world that, according to the media, is in a mess if it is in debt *or* credit. Schrodinger’s Debt.

I spent the last 30 years of my career as an IT consultant and the last 10 years of it as a consultant to the EU so I am fairly clued up on the hardware/software front.
If you need something that powerful I cannot for the life of me see why you would choose a tablet over a properly capable laptop.
@petealexharris @zleap @jemmesedi
Absolutely! The tory bastards who ripped off the UK to the tune of £ billions whilst it was on its knees due to Covid must be made to pay and pay a very, VERY high price indeed for their duplicity!
I have quite advanced joinery and cabinetmaking skills - can I build the guillotine - oh please - pretty please! I promise I'll make it quite unreliable!
Me personally, I have nothing against the Jews as a people but I loathe and detest the Israeli government and the settlers, for the mass murderers they are. If anyone wants to call me an anti-semite for that - feel free go ahead - as far as I am concerned you can stick your fuckin definition of antisemitism where the fuckin sun don't shine!
Frankly, I'd say they are off their fuckin heads! Whatever they have been smoking, I don't want any!
700+ Euros for a Linux tablet.
I can get a competent laptop for that money or a decent Android tablet for 100€ to 200€
@petealexharris @zleap @jemmesedi
A radical Labour administration that prosecutes the tory filth for their shameless use of government money to line the pockets of their chums at a time when the country was on its knees during the Covid crisis, would be welcome
Perhaps the more more worrying idea is that vast amounts of power are being used to mine cryptocurrency - an utter pointless use of energy if there ever was one!
Yep - I can attest to the truth of that statement!

👉Apply 1-2% wealth tax on assets £10M+ = £22Bn/yr

👉Apply NI to investment income=£8.6Bn/yr
👉End inheritance tax loopholes=£1.4Bn/yr

To all of you who are celebrating the fact that if the most recent polls are to be believed, the Tories might be pushed into third place in the election by Reform....
Take a moment to think what it says about our country that Reform's support base is growing.
I hate the Tories as much as anyone, but seeing them replaced by an even more repellent bunch of right wing nut-jobs & their growing support, is not in any way a good thing!
Retired software engineer & woodworker.

Detest tories. Subscribe to green, leftish radical politics but not to any particular political party!.
Love the EU and all it stands for, moreover, I spent the last 10 years of my career working at an EU agency.
Enthusiastic photographer, especially wildlife and most especially butterflies.
Slightly knowledgeable gardener.
Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.
