Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

It still gets me the Bible Jesus is a homeless socialist with brown skin, hangs out with 12 dudes and a Prostitute, tells rich people to pay their taxes and give their wealth to the poor, tells the religious leaders that they need to love everyone equally, gets a whip and goes hog on people using religion to sell stuff, and then straight up gets murdered for these beliefs. Yet somehow churches act like he's some kind of Conservative Haircut in khakis and a button up, who would support cutting welfare programs, and would preach Prosperity Gospel.

Maybe it's about time the government implemented something like we have in Luxembourg where everyone is entitled to full pay when off sick. Statutory sick pay in Britain is a "sick" joke. It's time Britain did better - VERY MUCH BETTER!

Scotland is a truly remarkable country. We are told by the media that post-independence there will be a deficit and this is a bad thing (though very few countries *don't* operate a debt). At the same time, we are told that as a *pre-independent* country if we run a surplus it must be referred to as an ‘underpsend’, and that this also is a bad thing. I spent the last 30 years of my career as an IT consultant and the last 10 years of it as a consultant to the EU so I am fairly clued up on the hardware/software front.
If you need something that powerful I cannot for the life of me see why you would choose a tablet over a properly capable laptop.

To all of you who are celebrating the fact that if the most recent polls are to be believed, the Tories might be pushed into third place in the election by Reform....
Take a moment to think what it says about our country that Reform's support base is growing.
I hate the Tories as much as anyone, but seeing them replaced by an even more repellent bunch of right wing nut-jobs & their growing support, is not in any way a good thing!
