Big move day - this is my new home for the next few months, at least through the winter.

@freemo How's things doc? I'm only just recollecting myself again in life.

NaNoWriMo's website revamp isn't the best this year :/

I haven't been talking much here lately. Immediately on my mind now is desire to make a second cup of tea.

@schestowitz I just want to say I really appreciate your news. I discovered Orx game engine via one of your Linux news links and now I'm obsessed.

I managed to make a silly clicker game in Unity2D. Next up is world domination with idle games.

Should I make a MUD? Where does one begin to enter that rabbit hole?

@freemo Thanks doc! Plan is to submit at least one job that I'm genuinely interested in per day.

Yeah Hugo is also more standardised, as in it's all done in Go. Hexo is predominantly JavaScript and things do get messy quickly.

@freemo
I have an unfair advantage of knowing Chinese. The reviews aren't kidding about hexo having full of community support in Chinese. I'm playing with this theme called Annie that has probably the most thorough step-by-step setup guide I've ever seen for a theme.

Started using hexo on gitlab, lots of fiddling, but at least it's all quite easy.

Just found out about an F-Droid app that detects when the spotify notification bar changes to "Advertisement" and then mutes it, and optionally plays audio from your device's library instead until it finishes

abertschi.github.io/ad-free/la

I love how simple and clever this idea is. It's essentially exploiting the analog hole to block ads, and it can't be restricted any more than they can stop you from manually hitting mute whenever an ad comes up

@Dee They are all over reddit too. Oh the goosanity.

And now I gotta pause epic gamer time to do some work. Think I'll start with migrating my self host blogs to qoto gitlab first, then backup my nextcloud before my VPS wipe. I might not be able to do all these in one day, and that's okay.

Game day. Wanted to try some humble bundles that I bought, as well as paying attention to game design for my course.

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong - I didn't like the parts where I control a skier instead of just building the ski lift. I wanted to just build ski lifts.

Hacknet - A game I did not expect to enjoy. Now I'm all hooked and have joined the cult. Hack places in dumbed down terminal style, and read everyone's personal lives. Silly things like point clicker. The textual details packed in this game is a work of art. This is a game that shows how much storytelling matters.

@freemo Don't worry if it's a hassle, I'll blog on gitlab instead.
