Christian coffee company to donate 100 cars to struggling single moms in need

A Christian-owned pro-life coffee company in Florida has launched an initiative to use profits to gift 100 cars to struggling single mothers in need and has already assisted the mother of a severely autistic teen.

Frosted conifers earlier this week. It was uncharacteristically foggy and (characteristically) freezing. Not sure if freezing fog is responsible for the cool way the snow formed or if it was just coincidence.

"Medicare for all" increases costs in Colorado. Affordable Care Act.

I'm just finding out about the trending hash tag. I recall the headlines when the first lady hadn't made a public appearance for 20 days, she isn't a judge (or an appointed or elected person at all) whereas Ginsburg is.

The only major media reports I can find are about how terrible people are for mentioning that Ruth hasn't appeared for many days.

I'm not proposing this is a conspiracy, just evidence of the overall media bias: when the issue is a non leftist, the story is about how bad the non leftist is. When the issue is a leftist, the story is about how bad the non leftists are for reacting to it.

@NPR Should we point out the assumption from this tweet from a member of the media? The assumption is that simply by being a member of the media like this tweeter is, means one always speaks the truth. Last time I heard NPR is was rumors and speculation with gleeful hope that Stone's arrest would advance their political goals rather than a focus on truth.

People don't g become saints because they get a government job instead of a corporate job, even in socialist governments like Venezuela. People don't become saints because they work in media taking a position of telling everyone what they should think. Those who are saints gather weekly to confess their hypocrisy.

We shouldn't turn off our discernment, it's always difficult to figure out what's "truth, propaganda or rumor ", the media is not inherently decent, honest, truthful, or reliable. We need to stop expecting a trustworthy news source and employ more critical thinking.

I've wondered if there's motivation to shrink the size of government a tiny bit this shut down by getting government employees into the private sector where there's the record low unemployment rate.

Feds Collect Record Taxes Through November; Still Run $305.4B Deficit

Current economic and tax situation (those irresponsible tax cuts?) continue to lead to higher tax revenue. But without addressing spending, we still run at a deficit.

Miracle Baby Born at 22 Weeks and Weighing Just One Pound Goes Home for Christmas (CW for length)

“I’ll be home for Christmas” will always have a special meaning for Sussie Bea Patrick. And no doubt chocolate bars will always be her favorite candy.

So glad @NPR is highlighting the relationships between state and media. Since there's no media bias, looking forward to them highlighting non-fox connections to political and bureaucratic people too.

I'll wait.

@NPR@innerwebs.social shares an article lacking significant sources and slanting sources to back its bias. CW for length.

The source on emissions going up is about emissions in China. What about emissions in the US?

It talks about new regulations that must be bad (because Trump is bad) but doesn't specify what they are, and getting rid of old rules that must have been good (because Obama is good).

Instead we should talk about relevant info such as
- what is happening with US emissions
- what ARE the new regulations?
- why did Obama pass through executive agencies that the next president could simply cancel, rather than through legislation?
- was the Obama regulation to promote clean air, or only to stop new plants from opening while letting existing plants not comply?
- is alternative energy cheap enough to be competitive without government oppressing coal?
- what do advocates mean by clean coal? How unclean is coal?
- How does coal power compare to the pollution caused by manufacturing clean power products and hardware and supplies?

But instead we just get :
"smart man think Obama good, Trump bad. Smart man need reminder so smart man keep thinking that. Here is headline that Obama good, Trump bad. You no need good data. Only need headline that Obama good. Trump bad. Here go."

It seems condescending to have this headline bias with only partially relevant data sources linked.

Women are majority of STEM grad students and they earn a majority of STEM bachelor's degrees - and have since 2004

Whoever defines the categories defines who is a bigot, who is a victim, who is an oppressor, with measures like this.

From the article : "By several measures, there really is no STEM gender gap in higher education. There are now more women than men earning STEM bachelor's degrees and there are more women than men enrolled in STEM graduate programs for master's and doctoral degrees.

... according to several measures, women are actually slightly over-represented in STEM graduate programs and earn a majority of STEM college degrees. A lot depends on how we define “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)” and that definition is fairly fluid and subject to various interpretations. "

@NPR this is excellent news, like when left coast tech companies choose to voluntarily sponsor climate stuff or fund their local failing public schools or homeless needs in their failing cities.

Even the big government left can see that it doesn't require federal or global policy to make a change, we all can at the individual, community, corporate and local government levels.

Certainly the only people upset about tear gas at the border are those who were outraged when it was used monthly under Obama, as this is just a continuation of the Obama policy. Link and excerpts from source CW for length

Obama administration used tear gas at border once a month

The same tear gas agent that the Trump administration is taking heat for deploying against a border mob this weekend is actually used fairly frequently — including more than once a month during some years under President Obama, according to Homeland Security data.

“The facts are, the policy written under President Obama allows us to use tear gas to disperse a crowd that was very dangerous,” he told the network.

So yet again we have outrage at Trump for doing what Obama did. I don't know that you're seeing things clearly if things are always okay for "us" to do but bad for "them" to do.

Love that there's here. I'm sure they contrasted the previous presidents praise for Iran against his attacks against the courts and police. Where was that...will report back when I find that unbiased reporting...
