Yes, respect, like self control or any other virtue, has to be taught. But anything taught also has to be learned. It's a two way street.

I am sorry for your loss.

@umad80 @loweel @lo @thenorthern

Agreed.

It's up to them to use the lessons given,which coffee from parents and others. In this video, we have no evidence of parents giving or not giving lessons on morality.

Why do people rush to blame someone who isn't in a video (the parents that wet know nothing about) for the choices made by the person in the video.

I've got multiple kids. They all make different choices as children and will certainly continue to do so as adults. They're individuals making their own choices. We have limited influence over others, even our own children.

@loweel @lo @thenorthern @umad80 That's not my assumption, but it's interesting that it's your take.

What do you think the assumption is of the younger generation lecturing older people is, which seems to be what this video is showing?

@lo @loweel @thenorthern @umad80

Yes that's true. I have 6 kids at different ages and levels of development. I'd say kids start making their own autonomous choices around 3 years of average developmental age. You're making choices in alignment or in contrast to values you have been exposed to. But unless you lived in a bunker, your parents weren't the only influences. I'd venture to say that today we are exposed to far more influences than we used to be, and culture has changed as well.

I won't claim it's all me when my kids make good choices. They get that credit themselves. They also get credit when they make bad choices.

@loweel @lo @thenorthern @umad80

Another factor (is this up to debate?) is the people are autonomous and not everything can be blamed on one's parents.

This moral flaw - blaming parents, not the individual - may be more detrimental than choice of discipline methods.

The press release published as an article about the debate with Cory was a well written spin piece in the .

I read it in a coffee shop Saturday, watched the debate on Sunday, and it's hard to believe the two are related, except that it quoted (the only quote, perhaps) Hickenlooper's prepared line that Gardener had a Wall of Words full of Untruths and Lies, or some such gobbledygook.

It feels like whenever the American left thinks the pope said something that agrees with their politics, they demand just a moment of theocracy.

San Francisco has opened churches, allowing only 1 congregant at a time?!

Perhaps this is part of a move to allow Nancy Pelosi to do anything she wants, all facilities can have one person, no mask, as long as the person's name rhymes with "Pancy Nelosi".

I survived the (can we just call it something else? "multiple candidates on the same stage"?) by calling my insurance company last night in the middle for a more pleasant experience.

Neither candidate did their best, of Trump had gotten out of his own way last night, things would have come across very differently.

I think it's easy to dislike his tone/style and miss all the content. Seemed to happen to the moderator and most viewers.

It's insane how many of the MOST PRIVILEGED people to ever live have managed to convince themselves that they are deeply oppressed.

Opportunity is everywhere. But you can't see it if your own mindset is tuned to the 'victim' channel 24/7. twitter.com/ZubyMusic/status/1 #Zuby

It's derailing Biden, more effective interruptions. Trump doesn't seem to get derailed or distracted, so the interruptions from Biden don't really cause an interruption.

I think Trump lost the opportunity to say he already said he condemned the Neo Nazis and White Supremacists at Charlottesville. Hopefully Biden would reply that didn't happen - and Trump could say to read the transcript.

USA Today fact-checks a satirical article from a satirical website and concludes that it's satire. And they were being completely serious, with a long list of citations and everything, to let us all know that a circuit court did not, in fact, overrule Ginsburg's death.

I don't even know what else to say. Except RIP journalism.
