Neat, hope it picks up steam!

Fedfree is a website aimed at teaching people how to run their own servers, of various kinds, on libre operating systems e.g. Linux and BSD. It aims to do this, using libre software exclusively, teaching people about the importance of libre software and hardware as it pertains to freedom; the right to use, study, adapt, share. The right to read. Universal access to knowledge… education. Education is the goal.

One tutorial so far, but more are coming.

No, of course not.

It’s not about what they teach kids. It’s about what they don’t.

They won’t be teaching them surveillance is bad. They won’t be teaching them there’s anything to fear from Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. They won’t be teaching them there’s anything wrong with surveillance capitalism.

Why should they when they exist to train the next generation of surveillance capitalists?

I made my #plan9 / #9front based #ActivityPub repo public. It's still very much a work in progress and it's mostly just a hodgepodge of undocumented scripts and C but if anyone's interested in helping push it along it's at https://github.com/driusan/fedi9.git

Right now it can:
Client:
- get (public) outboxes and cache them in ndb db
- import following list and do same
- serve them over 9p

Server:
- handle webfinger requests
- cache incoming inbox posts
- validate httpsigs
