I understand what you’re saying, but I’m not sure I’m any more worried about the Chinese getting peoples personal data and promoting propaganda than I am Twitter or Facebook or YouTube, or any of the others. I disagree with the idea of singling out, TikTok for doing what everybody else does. If there were comprehensive laws that regulate EVERYONE from accessing our data I’d feel better about this whole thing.
As far as spreading propaganda, I believe the education system could focus on educating people to be better armed intellectually for dealing with propaganda. Unfortunately, even propaganda is free-speech.
The question I would have liked to of seen asked in the survey would have been: What’s more important to you, having your taxes cut or LGBTQ civil rights? I think that’s where the rubber meets the road.
