So, I tend to watch Youtube before I go to sleep and I often watch various videos on STEM topics. I also (As you can see) am a fan of gaming videos.
However, that's not the point here.
In what fucking world is 6/2(1+2) a VIRAL math problem? That's *simple fucking math*. Did no one learn the order of operations? Am I stupid here? We got the 1+2=3, 6/2=3, 3*3=9. Nine. The answer is Nine.
I had to watch it to make sure I wasn't stroking out. That there wasn't some deeper aspect to the question.
There is. Apparently the order of operations and current convention on math has changed since 1917. However, the crux of it seems that some people just don't understand how equations are formatted in modern mathematics.

@Surasanji There's an image here, though not quite sure what it is? Is there a description I'm missing?

@Surasanji I was trying to figure out why there was a warning. Thanks, though.

@cambridgeport90 YEah, general Mastodon convention on servers with text limits like ours is to use the content warning for length. A good rule of thumb is more than 1k characters.

@Surasanji Ah. I have to get used to how screen readers read those, then. Still learning; I've only been up here a couple months, and I think I'm too used to Twitter? LOL

@cambridgeport90 I hear you! If you have any ideas to make #qoto more accessible please let us know. I am 100% positive @freemo would be happy to make our little slice of this federated pie more welcoming and easier to use for everyone who wants to join us. :)

@cambridgeport90 I'll take a look at some of that when I'm not passing out. I'll check with @freemo , though. He's a really nice dude, and a whole heck of a lot more knowledgeable than I am in the code department. I am more of a #stem fan than an actual scholar. :)

@Surasanji Same here, I think. I'm more of a technologist than anything. But that sounds awesome! And he definitely seems really awesome, as well.
