#introduction toot - I'm an assistant prof. of sociology at the University of Haifa. I study #algorithms / #data / #AI from a qualitative, critical, empirical perspective.
My current projects include algorithmic production in #SiliconValley, data #infrastructures in Israel, Israeli #surveillance firms, #aiethics, #microbiome science, and more.
In a previous life, I also wrote about #ptsd, online #depression, #emotions, and more.

We are the Department of Psychology at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.

We run undergraduate programmes in Psychology accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland, and engage in research across a wide range of fields from #OutdoorPlay, #TransnationalFamilies, #HealthPsychology, #EmbodiedCognition, and more.

Biology-inspired terms and analogies are very common in #MachineLearning ("A.I."), but they are far more misleading than helpful, rather wrong than right. So, better don't use them at all!

Switched Servers once (fosstodon.org seemed nice at first, but I post in English and German, occasionally in Dutch as well). If you have any hints on which servers work fast, which work slow, etc.... let me know.

I am computer science professor in machine learning for imaging at Imperial College London. Primarily working on medical imaging applications and interested in anything related to ML robustness, fairness, causality.

I’m an Assistant Professor of Public Administration at VU Amsterdam. My research focuses broadly on public and nonprofit management with a focus on science and technology. I’m also a big ol’ design nerd and currently exploring how UX design principles shape digital citizen-state interactions.
