Das ging ja flott. "Assange in Großbritannien zu einem knappen Jahr Gefängnis verurteilt."

@TheGnuMaster and the worst thing is, instead of being open about what they use for all the services, they slap own product names onto it, and only ever so slightly mention small bits about the original thing.

@TheGnuMaster the model feels super sketchy too.

Like, if they would do something beneficial, they'd offer the services without hiding most of it behind a paywall.

Social and Chat are free, but they are so many buttons with "spend x money", they just want to grab your cash.

@TheGnuMaster I haven't really heard a lot of positive things about Brave and BAT recently

and in general, if your users stand behind you, any basic donation model will work to keep a service alive. Don't hand a product to people, share services with them and get them invested in the ecosystem.

That's how you'll get support from a sizable amount of people.

so wait a second they took mastodon and removed all the features that made it somewhat better than e.g. twitter, and market that as a new service? are you ok?

There is rationally nothing Facebook can do to restore any measure of trust in them, and a 180-degree turn makes their newfound "privacy" faith all the more unbelievable.

If you believe will now or at any time in the future protect your/our/my I say good luck with that.
After everything that has happened, anyone who has read about even 10% of the violations would stay clear away let alone someone who knows about every single abuse Facebook has made.
Facebook at Google are monsters and will never give up their greed.
Anyone who believes these carcinogenic vile creatures is in need of some serious information exposure.

@Tutanota
Does Tutanota have a public statement on the Arrest of Julian Assange?
Apparently using GNU/Linux and Jabber are suspicious according to the indictment.
