Olena Droboti's life was taken by the shelling of Novoselidivka in Donetsk region on approximately November 15, 2024.
Together with her relatives and neighbors, she hid in the basement of an apartment building. One of the neighbors went outside and died.
Later, when other people also came out and wanted to bury the man, another shelling began. Seven people died. In particular, Olena's daughter Tetyana, father Mykola and local resident Tetyana Cherepnia.
Elena Droboti was 51 years old. She was born in Novoselydivka. She had secondary special education. She worked as a cleaner of office premises at the school.
"Students called her Aunt Lena. They loved her, and she loved them. There were no other people's children for her: she would hug and feel sorry for everyone. Olena also graduated from our school... Diligent, sensitive, polite - she was like that for all of us. Very hardworking. She had a lot of work, but she didn't complain. I raised three children by myself," said Nataliya Verkhovska, director of the Novoselydiv Gymnasium.
Britain's largest bank HSBC has stopped accepting payments from Russia and Belarus
The financial institution's website states that any such payments may be delayed or rejected and the funds returned. HSBC urged customers to seek alternative solutions for such transactions.
The reason for HSBC's new decision could be that the US recently expanded sanctions against Russian financial institutions.
