"Force that could not be tamed." In memory of Viktoria Roschyna - hromadske
"Congratulations, you are watching hromadske. My name is Viktoriya Roshchyna," is how our journalist, who died in Russian captivity, traditionally began her broadcasts. The occupiers claim that this happened during the transfer from Taganrog to Moscow.
Vika Roschyna worked for hromadske for more than five years. She was one of those journalists who do not wait for an editorial assignment. Once something was happening, Vika was already there. At rallies, skirmishes, places of murders. She took on the most difficult challenges, loved law enforcement topics, attended scandalous and important court sessions. Time and geography were unimportant to her – at any moment, Victoria was ready to go on a business trip even before she was told to go. She had no days off, holidays, or sick leave.
Her father received the news of Victoria's death on October 10.
The hromadske team expresses its sincere condolences to the relatives and friends
⚡️ If Kamala Harris wins the U.S. presidential election, Biden could begin working on inviting Ukraine to the Alliance, — Le Monde.
🔹 On Friday, the U.S. president met with leaders of Germany, the UK, and France. The main topic of discussions was Ukraine. According to the plan for Zelensky's victory, the partners failed to reach a common denominator, and likely will not until the U.S. elections.
🔹 In particular, there were disagreements on the point regarding permission for long-range strikes against russia. The leaders agreed that this is insufficient for a radical change in the situation on the front.
🔹 At the same time, the U.S. and Germany no longer oppose Ukraine's NATO membership.
If Kamala Harris wins the U.S. elections, Biden could start working on inviting Ukraine to NATO. However, the United States, the UK, Germany, and France alone cannot resolve this issue. Broader support from NATO members is needed, and Turkey and Hungary are likely to be opposed, — the publication writes.

Former CIA Director Haspel – suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces secretly strike Russia: We don’t need to announce it. The Ukrainians don’t need to announce it. They’ll just do it. And we don’t need to talk about it because, in fact, you know, it’s, I think, there has to be full support. Otherwise, you know, it’s just a war of attrition that the Ukrainians will lose because they can’t defend themselves. Just let them do it, and we’ll see what happens.

Do you all remember the video of the young Ukrainian soldier released from captivity, hugging his mother but unable to speak a word?
"This is a concentration camp." The story of a marine who was silent in russian captivity for a year
Yuriy Gulchuk silently looked at the delicious and nutritious food that was brought to him on a tray to the ward of the Oleksandriv Hospital in Kyiv. The 22-year-old marine could not eat it. He didn't have the strength to raise his hand and take the spoon. He also hardly spoke.
This continued for several days after his release from captivity on September 14, 2024. At that time, Ukraine managed to return 152 of its citizens within the framework of two exchanges in a row.
"When I found out how much time, effort and how many people it took to free me from captivity, I felt uncomfortable,"
he later said in an interview with BBC Ukraine.
Yuriy's footage in the arms of Milana Kompaniets's mother flew around almost all Ukrainian and many foreign media immediately after returning to Ukraine. At that time, he was practically unable to communicate.
His first words to his mother, which she conveyed, were:
“Why are people so cruel to each other? Why so much pain? Why so many lies?”

Today's Message from the President
(With Subtitles)
This week, we secured support from our partners in terms of the Victory Plan – thank you to France, Lithuania, our Nordic partners, and many other allies in the European Union. We’ve also received very positive signals from the United States – we are hearing changes in rhetoric. We are expecting a visit from a team from Washington, so that we can work on the points of the Victory Plan at all operational levels. We’ve agreed on several new support packages, both for defense and energy. This is not easy for us to achieve, but there is no other way to defeat the enemy. I am grateful to everyone who is helping. We must continue working together, in unity, to achieve results for all of us – for all of Ukraine.
However, while this is happening, unfortunately, there are things going on here, in the rear of Ukraine, that make external enemies seem unnecessary. This is truly an internal enemy. What’s happening with the Medical and Social Expert Commissions and the audacity of certain individuals – particularly prosecutors – who used their connections with the MSECs to obtain fake disability statuses. I expect swift and decisive action from law enforcement, especially from the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Prosecutor General’s Office. I have scheduled a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
Glory to Ukraine!

Supporters of the country's European course gathered at five locations before marching to Freedom Square. The slogan of the event is "Georgia Chooses the European Union."
The march was organized by non-governmental organizations and supported by Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, as well as major opposition parties.
