Would you say Kim and Putin look the same.
Both Russian ?
According to Liganet.
Military personnel from the DPRK will fight without their identification marks.
"They should be changed into the military uniform of the Russian Federation, they should be without North Korean identification marks, like Buryat, the Russian military, who are sent to the Kursk region, to recapture Suzha," said Andriy Kovalenko, head of the CPD. According to his data, the troops from the DPRK can be transferred to the border of the Belgorod region.
South Korean media reported that North Korean soldiers will fight under the guise of Russian Buryats and Yakuts.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) assessed that the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region is likely encouraging Russia to engage more actively in prisoner exchanges.
Earlier, ISW noted that the frequency of exchanges between Ukraine and Russia has significantly increased since the Ukrainian operation in Kursk began on August 6. Since then, both sides have exchanged a total of 267 prisoners each during three separate exchanges.
For comparison, from January 1 to August 6, 2024, Russia and Ukraine conducted only three prisoner exchanges.

The United States cannot confirm that North Korea has sent troops to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine, according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
He stated that if this information is true, it would be a concerning development for both North Korea and Russia.
▪️Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov claimed that nearly 11,000 North Korean soldiers are being prepared in Russia for the conflict in Ukraine. Some of them are reportedly already undergoing training at military bases in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk.

Zelensky’s Nuclear Arms Comments ‘Dangerous Provocation’ – putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's suggestion that Kyiv would seek nuclear weapons if it could not join NATO was a "dangerous provocation," russian President vladimir putin said Friday.
The Ukrainian leader made the comments at an EU summit on Thursday, in which he said "either Ukraine will have nuclear weapons, which will protect us, or we must have some kind of alliance."

"Putin sympathizers are like Hitler sympathizers"
part 2/2
ZDFheute: You write in your new book that if there is any political danger left for Putin, it comes from those returning from the front.
Glukhovsky: In the end, the revolution of 1917 was not fought through by intellectuals, but by those returning from the front in the First World War. The situation is similar today.
The intellectuals or the middle class who took to the streets in russia against Putin were never able to offer any real resistance to the police. We don't even know how to fight. But soldiers who have been confronted with death, who have killed themselves, show a completely different willingness to use violence. Those returning from the front will destabilize russia for a long time to come and create a dangerous situation for the regime.
ZDFheute: Will it end up like the war in Afghanistan? The war ended in 1989 with a disaster for the Soviet Union, and two years later the state fell apart.
Glukhovsky: It is much worse today. In ten years of the Afghanistan war, 15,000 Soviet soldiers were killed. In the Ukraine war, we are talking about more than half a million dead and seriously injured after two and a half years. That is a huge trauma. Many who survive the war at the front come back as murderers, thieves and rapists. They will live among us in the future. A country like russia will not care about such people. There is no plan for that.
ZDFheute: What do you say to people in Germany who are demanding negotiations with Putin so that the war finally stops?
Glukhovsky: I'd tell them, Putin sympathizers are like Hitler sympathizers. If we negotiate a ceasefire with Putin now, it will be nothing more than a period of peace between two wars. The only long-term solution to this war is the defeat of the regime.
Any outcome of this war that Vladimir Putin could present to his people as a victory will inevitably strengthen and perpetuate this regime. And it will remain an aggressive authoritarian imperialist regime in nature.
Do the Europeans want that, do the Germans want that? Education in schools and kindergartens has become much more soldierly and patriotic since the beginning of the war, children are being indoctrinated. This means that Putin is preparing for a long fight against the West.
ZDFheute: You have many fans in Germany. What can they expect from you next?
Glukhovsky: A small collection of plays will be the next thing I will publish here. But also video games. I like experimenting with genres and media. And with a bit of luck there will be a film adaptation of my script, a realistic thriller. But I can't say more about that yet.
The interview originally was conducted in German by Eva Schmidt and can be read here.
"Putin sympathizers are like Hitler sympathizers"
part 1/2
The writer Dmitry Glukhovsky is an important voice of the russian opposition even in exile. In an interview with ZDFheute, he explains why there is no negotiation with Putin.
ZDFheute: You were sentenced in absentia to more than eight years in a prison camp in russia for criticizing the war in Ukraine. How has your life changed since then?
Dmitry Glukhovsky: There are unexpected logistical restrictions (laughs). Of course I can't go to my homeland or to the half of the world that has good relations with russia.
I'm not allowed to go to Kazakhstan, Armenia or Belarus, nor to Indonesia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates or Turkey. Nyet, nyet, nyet. And of course I have to be careful about what I say, what I do and where I go, where I stay overnight, for example. But you get used to it.
ZDFheute: The russian government has put you on the wanted list, but what significance does your artistic work still have in russia?
Glukhovsky: To my great surprise, I am still being published. My play "The White Factory" premiered in London a few months ago - and it will soon even be published in Moscow. In russia, such things can happen at the same time: I may be on the wanted list, but people still buy my books completely legally.
Many works by artists - not just writers, but also musicians - who are classified as foreign agents are still sold and heard in russia. Of course, that can be over overnight. As happened to Boris Akunin, for example: he is suddenly classified as a terrorist and extremist and all book sales are banned.

Igor Kyivskyi wrote his thoughts on his X account:
russia invades Crimea and Donbas in 2014 - reaction of the democratic world - concern.
russia invades with a full-scale war in 2022 - reaction, concern.
russia commits thousands of war crimes, destroys dozens of cities, kills hundreds of thousands of people. Commits genocide of a nation in the 21st century in the center of Europe - the reaction, the partner is again concerned about this.
russia arranges nuclear blackmail at Ukrainian nuclear power plants - reaction of the world, concern
russia is bombing Ukraine's critical infrastructure and energy sector with missiles and drones, terrorizing civilians, trying to plunge them into the cold and darkness. The world is still worried.
Mass executions of Ukrainian soldiers captured by russian terrorists. Their abuse in captivity. The world's reaction, concern again.
Deportation and kidnapping of thousands of Ukrainian children. And then psychologically brainwashing the children and instilling in them hatred of Ukraine and their home, culture, language. The world's reaction, concern. Oh yes, they will still issue an arrest warrant for Putin. Which everyone will spit on and will not carry out (Mongolia is one example). Another concern, without any action.
russia calmly bypasses sanctions through other countries that help it. Buys technology that it uses in its missiles to attack Ukraine. The missiles are stuffed with chips and technology from the West. The reaction of the West, concern, we can do nothing.
russia is deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus, despite the nuclear non-proliferation treaties. Violating all international treaties. Despite the fact that Ukraine has renounced these weapons, and everyone forbids it to have them, or to deploy, for example, NATO nuclear weapons on Ukrainian territory as a deterrent. russia, however, calmly deploys them in other countries. And there is no need to even talk about nuclear weapons, if Ukraine is not even given long-range missiles, and is not allowed to strike russia, its military facilities, in order to defend itself from its aggression... and the only reaction of the world is concern again.
The second nuclear state after russia, North Korea, enters the war against Ukraine. It sends its troops to Ukraine. And before that, it sent millions of shells, ballistic missiles, etc. The world reacts with concern. The same reaction to military aid to the Russians from Iran, China, Belarus, etc. Everyone is concerned.
The list can go on and on, listing how many other things deeply worry our partners. But only a blind person cannot see their political impotence, cowardice and indecisiveness. And only a blind person cannot see that they simply do not care about all this, and they do not care how many more Ukrainians will die. But they cannot openly admit this, because they want to keep a “good” face.
The only people I am grateful to are ordinary citizens of the world who, unlike their politicians, continue to do at least something to support and help Ukraine fight this global evil and injustice.
