This bank will provide access to components of rare blood groups that may be needed urgently or in large quantities during emergencies. To make this possible, the shelf life of red blood cells has been extended to 30 years, which is much longer than the current maximum shelf life of 42 days. This will allow for the stockpiling of red blood cells of rare phenotypes. The necessary equipment was supplied to the Kyiv City Blood Center to equip the bank. This project was implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Parimatch Ukraine, and the Kyiv City State Administration.
