🇺🇸🇺🇦The passage of the new aid bill to Ukraine will directly benefit at least 71 American cities across the U.S.
Providing additional aid to Ukraine would also facilitate the replenishment of U.S. stockpiles with weapons that have been continuously sent to Ukraine over the past two years.
Washington is Ukraine's largest provider of weapons and military equipment. The U.S. has sent Ukraine over $44 billion in defense aid since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022.
President Biden also issued a statement after the vote, emphasizing that the passage of the foreign aid package sends "a clear message about the power of American leadership on the world stage."
"It comes at a moment of grave urgency, with Israel facing unprecedented attacks from Iran and Ukraine under continued bombardment from Russia," said Biden.
I urge the Senate to quickly send this package to my desk so that I can sign it into law, and we can quickly send weapons and equipment to Ukraine to meet their urgent battlefield needs."
The approval of the U.S. aid package comes at a critical time for Ukraine, marked by the increasingly deteriorating situation on the front lines, where Russia has recently made gains.
The delay in the U.S. defense aid for Ukraine contributed to the loss of the key front-line city of Avdiivka, due to a lack of necessary ammunition.
On a more positive note :
The legislation now proceeds to the Democratic-majority Senate, which already passed a similar measure more than two months ago.
U.S. leaders from Democratic President Joe Biden to top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell had been urging embattled Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to bring it up for a vote.

Business lends a shoulder to the shelled Kharkiv region: OKKO allocated 70,000 liters of fuel for generators on critical infrastructure
The OKKO gas station chain has donated 70,000 liters of fuel to the Kharkov region, which is undergoing massive Russian shelling. The fuel will be transferred to the Kharkov regional military administration. It will be aimed at supporting the uninterrupted operation of generators at critical infrastructure facilities in the region.
“I sincerely thank OKKO for so quickly responding to the call to support Kharkov. Thanks to the business that is ready to lend a hand of support when needed. Together we are stronger,” wrote First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.
Let us recall that last year OKKO transferred reconnaissance equipment, mortars, machine guns, and grenade launchers to the military. And this year the company plans to provide 10 DShV units with Pulstron enemy detection and destruction systems. The first of them was shipped the other day.
China is now Russia's primary military complex supplier, — US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“Of course, we have seen that North Korea and Iran supply Russia primarily with weapons.
But when it comes to the Russian defense industry, China is now the main supplier. We see China sharing machine tools, semiconductors, and other dual-use goods that have helped Russia rebuild its defense industry.
China cannot have it both ways. You want to have positive, friendly relations with European countries, but at the same time you are fueling the biggest threat to European security since the end of the Cold War," Reuters quoted Blinken as saying after the G7 meeting.
Ukrainian Armed Forces have shot down at least 100 Russian fixed-wing combat aircraft since the start of Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine — British Defence Intelligence.
“On April 19, Ukraine managed to shoot down a Tu-22M3 heavy strategic bomber for the first time. This is another success for Ukrainian Air Defense. The aircraft was shot down by a modernized S-200 system. It is most likely that the Ukrainian Air Force shot down an A-50 UAV on February 23 using the same system,” the Intelligence service stated.
