Russia ceased using the Kerch Bridge to supply weapons and ammunition after Ukrainian Security Service attacks, — The Independent.
Following two successful attacks by the SSU on the Kerch Bridge in October 2022 and July 2023, Russia restricted the transportation of arms across it. According to The Independent, which cites satellite imagery, there have been no military trains on the bridge for three months. Currently, Russia uses land routes in occupied eastern Ukraine to supply weapons to the front line.
Earlier, Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, said that 42 to 46 trains carrying weapons and ammunition used to pass through the Crimean bridge daily before the attacks. Now, even cars are going through the bridge in reverse, and their weight should not exceed 3.5 tons.
As a reminder, in October 2022, the SSU hit the bridge with a truck filled with explosives, and in July 2023, “Sea Baby” marine drones struck the bridge's abutments.
Lithuania is prepared to dispatch soldiers to Ukraine as part of a training mission, according to Prime Minister Ingrid Šimonite.
Šimonite informed the FT that she has obtained parliamentary approval to send troops to Ukraine for exercises, a move her government has previously signaled. However, Kyiv has not yet made a formal request.
Acknowledging that such action could be perceived as provocative by Russia, Šimonite stated:
"If we were solely concerned about Russia's reaction, we wouldn't be able to take any action. Every other week, there are threats of nuclear strikes," remarked the Lithuanian Prime Minister.
This week, in response to comments made by French President Emmanuel Macron, the Russian Federation conducted exercises involving tactical nuclear weapons. However, Šimonite expressed skepticism about the likelihood of nuclear weapons being deployed, noting that radioactive fallout would affect Russia as well.
Šimonite also addressed reports suggesting that Lithuania would assist in repatriating Ukrainian men of draft age:
"We will not organize deportations or actively search for Ukrainian men within the country, as doing so would be illegal," Šimonite clarified, highlighting that the EU has guaranteed their protection until March 2025.
Nevertheless, Šimonite stated that if Kyiv provides evidence that certain individuals are evading military service, they may be denied permanent residency permits.
On the 8th of May, the world commemorates the deadliest conflict of the last century—the Second World War. Ukraine is grateful to all nations that fought against Nazism. The world was united, and that is why free and democratic Europe won. Today, Ukraine declares: never again. Such a tragedy must never be repeated. Every country must protect future generations from the horrors of war.

The storm was not bad here. Sure hit hard 40 miles east of here in Cabool where they had baseball to softball sized hail. They sounded the tornado sirens because they wanted people to stay inside. Softball sized hail can kill. I was reading a book off the Internet and it got so weak it took 3-4 minutes to load a page. These pages are the equivalent of about 10 pages. Monday night was a worse storm. Jimmy Carter. A lifetime of service. A hero.
I sure hope they get those Patriots the Israelis are discarding soon. The Israelis need U.S. approval
Approximately half of the North Korean missiles fired by russia at Ukraine went off trajectory and exploded in midair, — Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office for Reuters.
Ukrainian prosecutors report that they have examined the wreckage of 21 of around 50 North Korean ballistic missiles launched by russia between late December and late February.
North Korean missiles account for a tiny portion of the strikes carried out by russia during its war in Ukraine, but their alleged use has raised alarm from Seoul to Washington, as it could mean the end of a nearly two-decade-old consensus among permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to prevent Pyongyang from expanding its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
The last recorded use of the KN-23 took place on February 27, the prosecutor's office said, adding that the total number of launches it identified was consistent with intelligence reports that North Korea had delivered about 50 ballistic missiles to russia.
