DRAMATIC UKRAINIAN COUNTER ATTACK

Ukrainian forces became trapped in a chemical factory at New York, pinned in by the Russian advance.
The situation arose in the first place because the Russians had captured the high central ground south of the town and the Ukrainians had just the low lying residential districts to the north that surrounded the chemical factory. The Russians launched a pincer attack around the factory overwhelming the Ukrainians in the residential area and forced them out.
The Ukrainians managed to fortify the chemical plant making it incredibly difficult for the Russians to attack it with the resources they had to hand.
In short the chemical plant is a veritable fortress of bunkers, steel and concrete, with many geographical features around it that make attacking it difficult.
Even just bombing and shelling it would take weeks and masses of resources.
Ukraine is in no mood to go through another siege like the one at the Azovstahl at the start of the war. Relieving the plant and restoring their positions was granted to the Special Purpose 12th Azov Brigade. These are unquestionably some of the ‘hardest’ battle trained troops in the army. They were there at Mariupol in 2022.
The plan was to restore a line of communication and supply with the plant and drive the Russians back enough to properly reconnect it with Ukrainian forces.
It was vital the Russians didn’t know the Azov were coming. For maximum impact they needed to deploy secretly and this was achieved in short order. The brigade relished the chance to take revenge on the invaders in such a scenario.
The Azov Brigade launched their attack with complete surprise - overwhelming the Russians with men, drones and artillery. The speed of their assault and the accuracy of their artillery crippled the Russian forces as they lost any sense of control over their situation.
The result was a major victory for the Azov Brigade, retaking the north of the city and firmly reconnecting the fortified Ukrainian positions in the Chemical plant.
This action not only retains a vital defence point but greatly assists the defence of Toretsk to the north by relieving pressure from the New York direction.
It also seems that it’s another important counter to the Russian efforts to push forward - the salient offensive is now appearing to have stalled.  It’s also a major morale boost for Ukraine proving they still have the ability to return to the offensive when they have the plan and the forces to do so. Russian mobilised forces are no match for surprises and experienced soldiers.
Elsewhere the Russians have tried to make small inroads at Vovchansk and failed.
There is fighting on the Vuhledar front that hasn’t gone well for the Russians so far.
The central front is still a hotbed of conflict as the Russians persistently try to breakthrough using drones, artillery and aerial bombs.
Russian attacks east of the Oskil River further north have resumed but have been resisted.

🧐🇷🇺Luxury and ponies: how Putin's sons, whom he hides, live

The dictator skillfully hid the existence of his eldest daughters - Kateryna Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova - for many years, and similarly kept the secret about the birth of children from Alina Kabaeva. However, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, everything hidden became known.

The dictator's sons from the former Olympic champion in kabaeva gymnastics lead a life of isolation under constant guard and hardly see their parents.

WILL KURSK CHANGE ANYTHING?

The Russians have now only 21 days to eradicate the Kursk salient - that’s the timeline Putin gave them. The Pokrovsk and other directional battles continue but Ukrainian resistance has stiffened considerably and the Russians are struggling.
The requirement they have themselves to eradicate Kursk by October 1st, if they fail would be internationally embarrassing but little more. Russians themselves seem numb to the whole scenario.
Ukraine is pining its hopes on the fact that Kursk will force redeployments from the centre to make Kursk happen for Russia. That would relieve pressure so much and give them some breathing space.
Yet so far there’s no sign of it happening.
More and more I’m hearing multiple reasons for the Kursk offensive and this latest one is now the one most often cited. It was always designed to get Russia to disengage elsewhere.
These multiple rationales for Kursk tell you it really didn’t have any real strategic objective and was an opportunistic effort to see what it could achieve. As of yet it hasn’t realistically achieved anything except land.
The Russians have created deadlines in the past to get things done. And blown past them without even pretending they had them in the first place. Why is this going to be any different?
Weather is the real enemy of the Russian advance and they know it. It cannot continue at any pace in mud. That’s what is really pushing them and that’s why they haven’t lost interest in the central front. What they have lost is the means of making it to Pokrovsk this year. And for that we should all be grateful. Russian manpower and equipment losses have exceeded their expectations and only Ukraine inflicting terrible losses on the enemy is the way to stop them.
Long may it continue.

British intelligence showed the consequences of the CBU and SSO attack on the airfield "Marinivka" in Russia

The drone strikes of the SBU and SSO of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Marynivka air base in the Volgograd region of Russia, which took place on August 22 of this year, caused large-scale destruction of key infrastructure and equipment.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, as a result of the attack, four shelters for aircraft were destroyed and three more were damaged. The radar station, auxiliary buildings and open storage areas were also destroyed.

The British published several photos showing the affected airfield, comparing the appearance of the airbase on August 19 and August 24.

It will be recalled that the SBU noted that the Russian troops actively use the "Marinivka" military airfield for bombing the front line in Ukraine and store anti-aircraft missiles there.

They were planning a "cyber war": saboteurs from Russia and Belarus were exposed in Poland

Polish intelligence services have neutralized a network of Russian and Belarusian cyber saboteurs who planned to infiltrate the systems of state authorities and local governments in the country in order to obtain information, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski.

"Over the past few days, we have managed to expose a group that had specific goals in Poland and operated from a specific location," he noted.

Gawkowski added that the cyber saboteurs were trying to "cause political, military and economic paralysis in Poland." However, the theft of data was avoided.
