Russian troops raped women as old as 83 while their families were forced to listen
"The United Nations' Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine has found that in the Kherson region, Russian soldiers raped and committed sexual violence against women of ages ranging from 19 to 83 years, often together with threats or commission of other violations," the latest UN report reads. "Frequently, family members were kept in an adjacent room, thereby forced to hear the violations taking place."
◾Insider previously reported on the case of a woman who recounted being raped by Russian soldiers who killed her husband. The woman ushered her crying 4-year-old son to the next room before the attack, but his cries so angered her attackers that they threatened, with a gun to her head, to "show him his mother's brains spread around the house," she said in an interview with The Times of London.

Musk’s X is biggest outlet of Russia disinformation, EU says
Elon Musk’s X was cited as the biggest outlet for peddlers of disinformation as the European Union urged Silicon Valley platforms to step up their vigilance to combat Russia’s “war of ideas.”
European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova said platforms need to act ahead of national and European elections over the next year.
“This is a multi-million euro weapon of mass manipulation aimed both internally at the Russians as well as Europeans and the rest of the world,” Jourova told reporters Tuesday. “The very large platforms must address this risk. Especially that we have to expect that the Kremlin and others will be active before our European elections.”

IS A RUSSIAN BRIGADE SURROUNDED?
There’s a lot of rumour based on Russian reporting and very little from Ukrainian sources. Russians are freaking out at what they claim is Ukrainian advances well up to half way in Verbove and another pincer arm moving from the north around Novofeodrivka which is NE of Verbove. Inside that closing encirclement is said to be a heavily depleted and exhausted VDV brigade on its last legs.
Operational security on the Ukrainian side is nailed down, but the panic from the Russian side suggests there’s actually something to it.
If - and I stress IF - this is true it’s a very big deal and could see the Ukrainians stretch the salient eastward dramatically - making more defensible.
Ironically the Russian troops potentially under threat of being taken into a pocket, are the ones who were sent to counter attack the eastern side of the salient and had made a few small gains before running out of steam.
There’s rarely smoke without fire in these reports but we have to wait and see. If the Russians break here and fall back exhausted it’s a disaster for the whole of that sector of the front.
Fingers crossed! 🤞

Australia has supported the demand of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to deprive russia of its veto in the UN Security Council and called for further reforms of the body! This was stated by Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in a speech at the UN General Assembly.
"We must demand more from the permanent members, including restrictions on the use of the veto. russia is making a mockery of the UN every day as it continues its illegal and immoral invasion of Ukraine," the Australian Foreign Minister emphasized.
Wong proposed to provide more permanent and non-permanent missions for Africa, Latin America and Asia, including permanent seats for India and Japan. According to her, Australia is seeking a seat on the Security Council for 2029-2030.
As you can see, the issue of UN reform is already emerging from expert discussions as one of the main issues on the international agenda. This is also thanks to Ukraine, which has brought this issue to the highest level.

Russia is trying to return to the UN Human Rights Council.
According to the BBC, Russian diplomats have sent a document to other UN member states asking them to support their proposal in the upcoming vote.
The document states that Russia promises "adequate solutions to human rights issues" and will do everything possible to ensure that the Council ceases to be "an instrument that serves the political will of one group of countries."
As a reminder, Russia was expelled from the Council in April 2022 for its aggression against Ukraine.

🚀 Ukraine manufactures part of its missiles abroad as Russians have been known to hit assembly sites, — Oleksiy Danilov, NSDCU Secretary.
💬 “This is a closed program and no one can say what status it’s in. I can tell you that Russia has hit the place where these missiles were assembled so we have moved a certain part of the production outside our country,” Danilov secretary said in an interview with Spanish ABC.
❕Speaking about long-range weapons for Ukraine, he added that the country would not use ATACMS for strikes on the territory of Russia and that they would be used exclusively for the defense of Ukrainian territories, as there are certain agreements on this issue with partners.

Russia's energy sector has been attacked
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received new generation SurveilSPIRE intelligence systems - DW.
They can be used to protect the perimeter not only at the front but also in grey areas. The system transmits data on the movement of the required object anywhere in the world. It consists of 3 elements: everything works autonomously with the help of artificial intelligence.
"When there is no possibility of drone reconnaissance, Ukrainian soldiers do not have to stand near a tower or cameras, they can be tens of kilometres away, and this saves their lives," says Janus Tamm, director of one of the companies that developed DefSecIntel.
These were the curious leaders who ordered the drone be brought to the meeting room so they could examine it after it was brought down by electronic signals. Curiosity killed the cat. It also killed the leaders.
The drone “recalculated” the leadership of the Russian 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment named after. Zhdanova - media

🤡 Putin ordered Shoigu to stop the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by October – ISW
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War, citing an insider source in the Kremlin, claim that the Russian President gave Shoigu a month to improve the situation on the front line, stop the Ukrainian counter-offensive and return the initiative to Russian troops.
The report suggests that Russian military commanders may order continuous counterattacks to force the Ukrainian counteroffensive to reach a climax, even at high cost to Russian military capabilities.
“Putin and the Kremlin view Russian defensive operations as a major victory on the battlefield, and constant Russian counterattacks allow the Kremlin to call these operations individual victories against the backdrop of a general lack of Russian success on the battlefield elsewhere,” ISW details.

More on the Black Sea Commander
The Russian Defense Ministry showed an image of the allegedly living Black Sea Fleet commander Viktor Sokolov at the meeting - earlier, the Ukrainian Special Forces claimed to have eliminated him.
The ministry also released a video of the meeting. In it, Sokolov appears completely still on the screen, even when he suddenly wears glasses between the 5-second splices (04:26-04:31).
Before that, Peskov said that he "has no information about the alleged death of Black Sea Fleet Commander Sokolov.

"We are increasing our own gas production. In 2023, we drilled a record number of new wells, and we will continue this trend next year," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
It is planned that for the first time the country will go through the heating season exclusively on domestic natural gas.
A 40-year-old and 27-year-old residents of Kharkiv region were exposed, who helped the occupiers take cars from civilians for the needs of the Russian army
They were informed of the suspicion of aiding the aggressor state.
According to the investigation, during the occupation of the village of Slobozhanske, two local residents voluntarily agreed to help the Russian military and gave them information about cars owned by fellow villagers.
In the future, Russian servicemen drove to the indicated addresses and took cars for the needs of the army of the aggressor state.
So, in August last year, the suspects together with the occupants came to the village of Liptsi, broke a metal gate in a private house and stole an SUV from the territory.
