As of now, only four countries that have officially joined the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine have made monetary contributions, according to Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová.
Radio Prague International reports that Lithuania recently joined the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine, committing 35 million euros.
Černochová made this statement after the meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels, where she and her Lithuanian colleague Laurynas Kasčiūnas signed the relevant memorandum.
In total, 18 countries have joined the initiative, but only four—Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Portugal—have allocated funds for the purchase of ammunition.
The first batch is expected to be delivered to Ukraine at the beginning of June. Černochová emphasized that Lithuania's contribution of 35 million euros is significant.
"This is further proof that the interest in supporting Ukraine in our region remains very strong," she added.
Ukraine condemned North Korea's attempt to launch a space reconnaissance satellite.
"Ukraine is deeply concerned about another attempt by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to launch a launch vehicle with a reconnaissance satellite on board. We strongly condemn Pyongyang's repeated violations of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Such actions, as well as the provision of military assistance by the North Korean regime to Russia in the war against Ukraine, significantly deteriorate the security situation in the region and the world. Ukraine calls for increased pressure from the international community on Pyongyang to comply with international law and ensure stability and security on the Korean Peninsula," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

⚡️ Scholz: Russian casualties amount to 24,000 soldiers per month.
Russia suffers around 24,000 soldiers killed or seriously injured per month during its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, as reported by n-tv on May 26.
"There is a figure that says there are 24,000 killed or seriously injured Russian soldiers per month," Scholz said during a citizens' dialogue.
"All of this for the Russian president's (Vladimir Putin) imperialist megalomania."

From "The Analyst":
RUSSIANS ATTACK KONSTANTINIVKA
After over a week of pausing to regroup, after finally pushing Ukraine out of Novomikhailivka (and just after a year long fight and I’d learned to spell it properly), the Russians have now concentrated their efforts in the SW of the front to attack Konstantinivka. As discussed before, this is the strategic communications and logistics hub for this section of the front and its loss would greatly weaken the ability to defend Vuhledar to its Southwest, the keystone to the front in this area.
The Russians are very committed to this as a target, with two full brigades and as many as four additional separate regiments lined up for the assault.
Using air strikes with glide bombs and the ever present threat of Lancett loitering drones, the Russians repeatedly press in the same directions, towards the north west and the south west.
They are so determined to undermine Ukrainian defences they’re even using the Lancetts against individual mortar positions, an expensive way of doing things.
Konstantinivka is one end of a lake, which goes to its east and at the far end of it just to its northwest, is a much smaller village, Paraskovika. Russia must take this or its attacks to the southwest, south of the lake towards Konstantinivka can be harassed by Ukrainian forces. As a result it’s been subject to heavy bombardment.
The key to stopping the Russians here is the degree of open farmland.
They have to expose themselves to advance and they have therefore adopted the use of more armour than usual - turtle tanks abound - and these are prime targets for the defending Ukrainians.
The first main attacks from the northeast of Paraskovika consisted of a mix of T-90 assault tanks and T-80’s - all of which were destroyed by mines and artillery fire.
The southwestern attack was even more numerous with a sizeable number of T-62, BTR and BMP attacking along this sector. This turned into a massacre. The whole group tried to race across the open terrain as fast as they could, only to find St Javelin had descended to rip them to shreds. With infantry and crews who managed to get out of their flaming wrecks, trying to find somewhere to hide, they were next. A
mix of drone grenades and spotter drones working with cluster munition firing artillery, eradicated any remaining threat.
According to the analysts whose invaluable services counting up geolocated losses is so important to understanding this war, 32 confirmed armoured tanks and vehicles were lost in this one sector in one day carrying out these attacks.
With renewed artillery and javelin stocks, along with domestically produced anti-tank mines and drones the Ukrainians got the better of this Russian offensive. They’re unlikely to try this in the same way now they know how heavily defended the area is.
Continued Ukrainian flexibility and tactical knowledge, outfoxed the blundering turtle tanks which may be drone resistant, but are nothing against mines and artillery.
A good day for Ukraine 🇺🇦!
