If anything actually new (no matter how trivial) comes out now, i'd expect it to be monetized and weaponized (as in collect private data).

So i guess your point stands, but the hurdle for something (trivial or not) new coming out got much higher in terms of usability. It would have to be something that can be put upon existing hardware or manufactured at home. Everything else would be poisoned.

The thought of using CB is kind of the same idea i guess? Get independent from infrastructure that can be highjacked, that was (part of) your idea?

Fand es schon immer merkwürdig nach Geschlechtern zu trennen, aber selbst wenn es bessere Kriterien gibt für Kategorisierung, die Konkurrenzdenke geht mir ab.

@PippiPunkstrumpf Es ist zum heulen, wenn man neoliberalen Kapitalismus, Faschismus, Umweltzerstörung einbezieht bleibt kaum was übrig außer vielleicht ein paar lokalen Tomaten. Unilever, Nestle, so viel Plastik wie Produkt, mit der was entspricht meiner Ethik-Brille wäre der Supermarkt leer. Eigentlich nicht mal die Tomaten, die sind dick in dem Plastik, was ich in ein paar Jahren auf Umwegen in mir hab.

@OpenComputeDesign Are you being instructed in a way you can understand, including in terms of how to achieve the correct angle? If not, maybe some weird old forum has instructions to dig out? Or some crusty old fella might know more than who taught you?

Both learning skat and how to shoot a bow had massive differences in instruction quality for me, with the first one seeming impossible until someone made some sense.

If it is important to be good at felling trees depends a lot on if you and the people around you need trees felled and if enough others are good at it. If it is, i'd guess training would be more useful than self-flaggelation?

Let's just take one step forward at a time, don't pay too much attention to powerful people taking a billion steps backward in all our names when your mental health is concerned.

@rootcompute Well, "not part of the internet" is usually reserved for proprietary stuff, like "use this app or no entry".

My comparison is flaky, i admit, but i would construct it around a company gatekeeping beyond the "this is our website" part. Like google letting you through their capchas when they have enough data on you, not by solving them. (another inaccurracy, since i said "capchas" in general).

I'd call it a walled garden. Just that this one is not one piece, but a cross section. A marbled garden?
