I’m a postdoctoral scientist studying #imageanalysis 🔬at the Broad Institute.

Interested in #opensource software for #biology, #dataviz (mostly with #RStats ), and #videogames 🎮👾.

I love using my expertise to help generate biological insights from data. 📊

Hmm. I am usually the last to join a new technology/trend (refused cell phones for years, didn't want to upgrade from windows 3.11 to 95 😃 and kept Keynote9 for way too long). So moving to mastodon so early makes me nervous.

Consider this my @introduction. I am tentatively here :).

Computational neuroscientist by training (RL FTW), now comp psychiatry & psychotherapy (human behavior & individual diff FTW), and on sabbatical learning & practicing CBT! Lab @ Princeton full of wonderful people.

Apparently I’m supposed to post an #introduction so here we go - I’m Kate, an ex-pat Kiwi living in the UK since 1990 and a behavioural neuroscientist studying the neural basis of cognitive mapping. PhD with Richard Morris and postdoc with John O’Keefe, then own lab at UCL psychology in the IBN (Institute of Behavioural Neuroscience) for many years. Recently became Head of School, Psychology and Neuroscience at Glasgow. Married to Dr Axona, have 3 daughters and a grumpy cat.

The most common #woodpecker in the #Netherlands, our #GreatSpottedWoodpecker never the less it’s a very shy #bird but when you do #capture it... You’ll see how photogenic it really is.

Hi all! It's time for an #introduction and first preprint post!

I'm a new assistant professor at Utrecht University. My group uses #biochemistry, #cryoEM and molecular #virology to study cellular entry, replication and assembly of clinically important pathogens such as enteroviruses and coronaviruses.

In our most recent @biorxivpreprint, we describe the selection and structural characterization of a macrocyclic peptide inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein!
