I really like how #emacs has been over the last few years sprouting packages that integrate well with existing emacs functionality. This is in contrast with older do-it-all packages like helm, ivy/counsel which in my usage have been replaced with vertico/consult/etc and projectile which has been replaced by project.el.
Case in point, someone I follow recently extolled the use of helm-apropos, but in #vertico, the emacs command describe-symbol is enhanced with vertico's narrowing framework without having to bind to any new functions. It may be not 100% the same as the helm function (I don't know I've not used it), but it does the job well enough in a nice and neatly engineered way.
I really appreciate this burgeoning attention to engineering, orthogonality and separation of concerns. As a software developer myself, I strongly believe this is the way to go.
So Elon Musk apparently decided to (falsely) apply the state-affiliated media label to NPR’s Twitter account before he even bothered to learn the difference between public media and state-controlled media. Yes, really.
Then he emailed NPR — after slapping a false label on their account — and they had to explain the difference to him. This one is a doozy, even for Musk:

So, let's review:
The #murderer drove his car into a crowd. The #victim, who was carrying a #rifle openly, in accordance with #Texas law, raised the rifle in self-defense toward the car coming at him. The murderer, who in addition to using his #car as a #weapon, was also carrying a #pistol, shot the victim. "#Gun #rights advocates" are supporting the murderer.
Sometimes I wish I still belonged to the #NRA so I could resign again.
And that's not even the main issue here. No, the main issue is that the #Republican Governor of Texas, along with his hand-picked toadies on the state parole board, wants to legalize #murder. Which, by the way, he will almost surely succeed in doing, in this particular case. Republicans all over the country will back him.
Every day I have a harder time believing any of us are going to live through this.
Twitter: "Hi, we're run by a cryptofascist who reinstates the accounts of literal nazis while suspending those of press. We'll keep randomly taking away features with no notice and limiting your visibility until you pay us a monthly fee, which you can only do in a handful of countries. Vaccines are bad, the election was rigged, and we love Putin!"
Mastodon: "Hi! You need to choose a server and our DM UX is a little iffy."
Users: "NEVER BEFORE HAVE I FACED A CHOICE THIS HARD"
What is your prediction on the raising the US #DebtLimit? (Boost for bigger sample)
1) #Biden caves; increase tied to spending cuts
2) #Republicans cave; Clean debt limit Increase.
3) US Government Default
And then getting suspended after mentioning where he was going. Wow Elon is such a maroon.
Old software developer. C++ developer by day, Rust for fun. Linux guy. Hacking on the intersection of #computervision and #neuroscience in my spare time. Fan of #SpaceX, but Elon, not so much.
