So I started working on my text based MMORPG again last night (referred to as MUDs). I am going to convert the world data from JSON text yo using a graph database through. #Ferma instead. The world is the only thing left to convert, items spawns and character data was already converted. After that I'll work on getting the fight dynamics to where I want it.
The game is called AetherMud and it is open-source and written in Java
You can find the source code here: https://github.com/Syncleus/AetherMUD
In case anyone was wondering what #QOTO is... Well aside from being the name of our instance it stands for "Question Others, Teach Others" and is pronounced like "goto", it is an intentional play on words "goto QOTO" sounds like "goto goto".
My predictions: Twitter will be the first of the social media Old Guard to collapse. Facebook will be the second. What follows will be a war of sorts between decentralized platforms like Mastodon and Diaspora and centralized, though "free speech focused" platforms like BitChute, Minds and Gab. They will probably split along political lines (Mastodon and Diaspora lean mostly left; MGB, right), and they're pretty evenly matched, so I don't know who's going to win; it may tie pretty closely to the political situation of the next four to eight years.

if a sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, is a sufficiently mundane technology indistinguishable from its context?
ex: nobody thinks of language as a technology but here we are with a decentralized system of overlapping transient protocols that we use to hack each other’s brains because we literally cannot imagine a society without communication
