No constraints to launch. Launch Polling is about to start... Stand by

Launch has slipped. No new T-0 but Not Earlier Than 0645UTC (1:45am EST)

Ok, will miss the start of the launch window. We are within 10 minutes of the start of launch and terminal count has not started yet. Waiting for a new T-0.

Network switch has been replaced and NASA is targeting 0604UTC (1:04am EST, 10:04pm PST) for liftoff.

update from NASA (via the Everyday Astronaut [live feed][1]) is that the hydrogen leak has not come back, prop loading is complete and in refresh. The network switch is being repaired. There is no slip to the launch time and NASA is still targeting the start of the Launch Window.

#NASA #Artemis1 - T- 56 min back in core stage topping on the Liquid Hydrogen tank and counting Have an update on the situation with the Range , issue they had was with the radar ethernet switch, the range is going to change it out and reverify it, will take about 70 minutes according to NASA PAO to do that work Image shows the in side of Firing Room 1 where the launch attempt is being ochestrated.

Spouse: The Red Crew is that the people working on the rocket while it is fueling?

Me: It doesn't look like it.

Spouse: That's probably a good thing.

Tomorrow will be the last day we see the Sun until February. Well we’ll likely not see it as it is forecast to be overcast. People image we have one long night, but that’s not true. We have a varying amount of twilight as the Sun skims below the horizon.

Ok peeps if someone were to start up an (unofficial) Mastodon server specially for Episcopalian 1) would you consider migrating to it? 2) what would you want its content moderation to be?

I own a relatively small telescope, with 300-m focal length, only. For many objects this is too short. On the other hand, it allows me to take some nice wide-angle #AstroPhotography shots.

For example, I can image the Cygnus Loop in one go. Here is a preliminary result, using a dual-narrowband filter (H-alpha, OIII), with only basic processing applied. The Moon was too bright to also take an RGB image, so the star colors are wrong. Need to invest more time...

If the path to your ideal society depends on everyone agreeing to live by the rules of that society, what you have is a fantasy not a solution. The first question of social change must be how to accommodate those who don't support it.

The most annoying thing with #firefox is when you restart it and it shows you a bunch of "Use Mozilla VPN" or "Try the new Tab thing" bullshit!

NASA did not find a definitive cause on the LH2 leak that scrubbed the second Artemis I launch attempt. They were able to narrow it down to a few options and are proceeding with mitigations for attempt number three.

The Helix Nebula NGC 7293 makes an appearance on the tracking camera as I try and update USA 227's positional data.

Here's another gem from recent times, my image of the Soul Nebula in Cassiopeia. Shot with a OSC camera and the L-Extreme filter, it's possible to process the data in the Hubble Palette style.
