it's funny to have "#google is evil!" and "#sailfish is evil closed source shit, i'm moving to android!" in the timeline.
i don't believe anyone can have the full picture of android. i don't believe an android without google tracking can exist.
the other free mobile os are not there. most of them are barely functioning, and they haven't even started to solve all the small problems which sailfish os (android also..) has still to fight. it's really nice that people are working at those, but they aren't an alternative yet.
@bonifartius i rather fake my identity rather than google-free-ing my device.
It had a lot advantages.
Only fake identity + google-free setup would beat that.
But who does that?
@bonifartius Its a shame the only good option right now for mobile is google android.. iOS is of course even worse than google. I long for the day linux on the phone becomes a viable option where it actually is supported enough by app developers that its useful, and supported on enough phones you can actually buy a decent phone and install it. Right now it seems your only choice is to buy one of a very small number of models from small vendors who put linux on the phone. But even then the app universe is severely lacking
@bonifartius free from all google tracking android is indeed didn’t exist for general mass.
But in reality there is number of google-free android build.
