Look now, a woman with opinions on a thing she's an expert in gets well-actuallied in the comments by white men in real time who are not experts in the thing. Except one, and you can tell. I checked.

🚨 Reminder to recruiters, resumé reviewers, and hiring managers 🚨
Using #OpenSource contributions as a factor in sourcing candidates or making hiring decisions is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea.

i feel sorry for the people who were laid off but perhaps this will be a reflection point for some of them and they might start to recognize themselves as workers instead of special fancy lads exempt from labor relations https://twitter.com/GergelyOrosz/status/1616542572456955923
I'm not even saying it isn't a fight worth having, but for all the feelings and sensations we watch horror for, a persistent sense of "that moment when the vibe goes bad at a rowdy bar" isn't one I was looking for or expecting.
These shows keep getting gayer and blacker and transer and fatter and womanier and it seems like it's driven entirely by spite and I am totally here for all of it but I can't get past the little tickle in my brain that someone is trying to pick a fight with this stuff.
This is what makes the internet wonderful.

As promised, a song improvised at my parent's house.
This song is for @JortsTheCat. They asked for a song about a pen called Dr. Grip.

This happened and now I'm 60 bucks deep into a @JetPens order

These are pens worthy of enormous excitement. These pens just got delivered and are being handed out like prizes right now. People are squealing with glee. Some of them are different colors

Ok #css nerds, I'm working on creating a theme for bootstrap 5.2, I'm making changes to buttons, specifically the padding, and building bootstrap from sass.
I can override --bs-btn-padding-y in the relevant class, or I can override $btn-padding-y (or $input-btn-padding-y) in the sass. What's the difference here? I think the former is easier to read and find, but that's the only distinguishing feature I can find on the face of it.
I was raised republican and middle class, voted democrat, bought a house and started a business at 24. I'm 41 now, sold the house, shut down the business after 10 years, working on picking apart middle class indoctrination, and a socialist with anarchist tendencies.

In both UK & US, it’s not just that Millennials aren’t voting conservative because they’re young.

"Brown, who is in his 17th year as mayor, then suggested the strain of around-the-clock storm response was getting to Poloncarz."
After once again failing to lead in Buffalo during a crisis, it's nice to know the mayor is well-rested.

Oh agreed. I don't want the death of the keyboard either but at some point I'm betting we will see them get phased out as standard equipment in our lifetimes. In the mean time I would like all my laptops to also have touchscreens please and thank you.
