Considering the past 25 years was basically just implenting original thoughts that were thunk 50 years ago, I dunno, probably move towards 100% touchscreens, high-capacity Bluetooth, ads in your OS and finally putting the webcam in the middle of the screen.

Don't like the Chinese surveillance state? Hate the social credit score? I do too, but don't feel too smug because you live in the US. We're not survielled less, it's just that we allow companies to do it here instead of the government. thenation.com/article/society/

Its funny, during a conversation at Christmas dinner I realized that while R is a legit language that does legit things, the only people I know who actually use it are students and they all hate it.

I clearly need to make more data scientist friends.

Must See: A popular golf dome on Wehrle Drive was ripped apart Friday as near-hurricane force winds and blizzard conditions battered Western New York. The Clarence Town Supervisor said no injuries were reported. Full story: trib.al/M3S7Hx3

I think they were trying to hold on until there was an effective set of tools to address the virus, personally. They failed, though I haven't gotten a good answer as to why they've decided to let 'er rip in the first place.

My heart breaks for China and I wish their zero-covid plans could have been better. Also, this is why I never really trust Chinese news without verification.

Overflowing hospital morgues—Fever meds shortage, oxygen tanks EMPTY, 🏥 overwhelmed, blood shortage, death tolls soaring among elderly ==>lots of body bags—even at a top Beijing hospital too. Worsening yet to come. But still 0 official deaths.

Yeah, this is definitely musk's Twitter. I don't really object to boobies or to sex workers needing to market themselves, it's just another sign of the changing priorities over there. If it helps, I'll be happy to share her link on onlyfans. Seems only fair. And for the record she does have nice boobies, I can see why she monetized them.

So today, in the year of our lord 2022, for the first time did unsolicited boobies cross my Twitter timeline. It's more surprising that I realized that's never happened before.

Hey @Teladoc what is going on? My asap phonecall in New York state has been waiting for 6 hours. All I need is a script refilled, but getting that script filled tonight is the difference between being ok and going to the emergency room.

So the county executive announced a 160% increase in weekly COVID numbers today, and I've been on hold with teledoc to get a single prescription filled since noon.

In case you were wondering how it's going.

Boomer standup is distressing. Not all of it, but check out the b-grade comics on YouTube some time. It starts with "kids these days" and ends with a bunch of trauma dumping from the abuse the comic suffered as a child.

Same, except I want to give them electric guitars and see just how hard they love it. They're super loud and have a timbre a lot like a person screaming!

Same goes for younger millennials. I've been shouting about this for years, incidentally, and now we have a generation of kids who can't reliably read cursive *or* type because the information age came to us on iphones, not PCs. We failed those kids.

Web sumo is a sport where you stand still doing exactly what you please, as people try to get you to switch to a framework, and you win if their framework is deprecated before you are moved

I came across one of the first blog posts by the React team, "Why did we build React?", and it's fascinating because it never even tries to answer it's own question, but implies that ie8 has quite a lot to do with it.
