Searching for "replace air filter on a Samsung SG-3560lgh" is gonna return fifty Quora/WikiHow style sites named "How to replace the air filter on a Samsung SG-2360lh" with paragraphs of plausible, grammatical GPT-generated explanation which may or may not have any connection to reality. Site owners pocket the ad revenue. AI arms race as search engines try to detect and derank LLM content.

But what is ChatGPT meant to DO? What is its purpose?

Does it perform useful work that might replace (or ease the burden on) humans? No, it does not. Its pseudo-essays are unreliable. They seem designed to sound plausible, not to be correct.

Is it meant to fool us, to create the sensation of an underlying intelligence, in the spirit of the Turing test? We ought to know by now how easy that is, we who chat with Siri or Alexa every day.

Please be super aware of these genius scams. This is completely fake -- in that I don't owe this -- but PayPal doesn't know that, and all the links are live, only the phone number is wrong. This is what happens with crypto breaches -- bad people have access to you. You click to pay it, PayPal thinks you owe it, and they pay the fake invoice out of your account!
