"The opposite of woke is 'cunt' ".
💯% pure genius. The best sentence this century.

hey I have a #meta #mastoadmin question. Can you think of any incident where „a Fedi admin can look at your DMs / Mentioned People Only Visibility Statuses(tm)“ caused an actual problem? Like, where an admin did that, and it caused harm? Because I sure can‘t. Is that my local bias here? Or is it just straight up, well, not much of a problem in practice?
No details just „yeah we had An Incident over here“
This is real.
The first time I saw a doctor and said "something is very wrong," I was told it was stress and given Prozac and Prilosec.
A few years later, I was nearly dead. I was 5' 8" and 103 lbs. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. My hair was falling out. I couldn't stand up for more than a few seconds. I was living on NSAIDs and protein shakes.
Then I got mad and started firing doctors who wouldn't listen. And I finally got diagnosed.

In my opinion, it's probably best to only add your HashTags to the first post of a thread, unless one of your replies is also useful as a stand-alone post.
(For example, this reply might be helpful by itself if it shows up in a search, without needing to read the thread it's from)

I am not a big fan of using #AI generated art for the creation of #solarpunk : the movement needs conscious research of new symbols and hieroglyphs, not just permutations of what's already there.
This doesn't mean that neural networks such as #midjourney or #stablediffusion don't have their uses: they can help us map what's already there in the shared imagination and what's not, to help us understand which symbols might be alien to an average person and which might be founded in their culture.
Question:
Now that thing here are growing rapidly, it draws the bots n trolls.
Does anybody have tips on how to sort new folks with empty-ish profiles, or people that are just inherently ranty, from the bots and the trolls? And what do we do if we find them?
Mostly asking from a follow pov. I want to follow and welcome as many as I can, but I don't want to welcome garbage.
I haven't been directly harassed or anything. But I do want to do what I can to support a safer platform.
I know 7*8 well; my memory claims it's because it didn't really make sense, so I had to memorize it specifically.
That's doesn't explain why 8*3 has always been hard, though. :)
