Yo if I was using Tweetduck for birdsite stuff, is there a Windows desktop Mastodon client that would replace that fairly seamlessly? The advanced web view is pretty good, but ultimately I need multi-account management, and I really prefer standalone programs to web apps.

Basically my needs are:
* Customisable list/column view
* Multi-account
* UI works properly with high-dpi display

One thing I've clearly noticed is that I really stand by the personal things I've written, my view on the tech industry was _way_ too optimistic before I felt safe enough to share the criticisms I felt in my heart, and my music writing holds up better than I'd hoped. I have become extremely protective of this place (@SDF Mastodon).

I don't think I've felt this way about an online community since some chat rooms/message boards I ran on Delphi and Prodigy in the early 90s.

The fact that @SDF offers you the chance to be a member patron of a 501(c)(7) non-profit obviously provides a sense of ownership.

Why does #HP have to be so #authoritarian about firmware?

I've got a DL80Gen9 and a couple of Aruba switches that I can't download firmware for.
The Aruba switches, because I don't want to use my work email for personal things, and the DL80 because HP won't let you download firmware updates for ANYTHING if it's not under a #support #contract.
It's almost like HP wants the internet to be full of botnets. I don't understand why a company would deny a #homelab owner the ability to update firmware in order to keep things safe and up to date. #Hewlett_Packard_Enterprise cannot possibly be THAT hungry for cash that they need to charge a #homelabber THOUSANDS of DOLLARS just to #download an .iso or a #firmware package.
