I just finally deployed something I've been working on for a few weeks now: a feed of my writing, posting, reading, and other various activity that lives on my website at https://www.mollywhite.net/feed!
I've admired the POSSE (https://indieweb.org/POSSE; "Publish [on your] Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere") model for a long time, but only finally found the time and energy to put something together that I'm actually happy with.

Drugs are cheap, government-granted patent monopolies make them expensive Drug companies DO NOT want a free market https://cepr.net/in-a-free-market-drugs-are-cheap-government-granted-patent-monopolies-make-them-expensive/
I remember when the mushroom people were angry about something like this a few weeks ago. Someone had published "books" on amazon that claimed to be edible mushroom identification guides.
And they were AI garbage. Garbage that could get people very dead.
Since English is my first language the bad writing gives some of it away (but not always) but please don't think that people being tricked by this ocean of meaningless garbage isn't a real threat.
We've made the internet useless.

NEW research: https://sparktoro.com/blog/who-sends-traffic-on-the-web-and-how-much-new-research-from-datos-sparktoro/
The wait's over. Thanks to the amazing team at https://datos.live, we can finally answer questions about:
- Who sends traffic to the open web (besides Google)?
- How much? Does it go to the long tail, or just the top few sites?
- What's changing?
If this research is valuable to you, I'd truly appreciate amplification (the reach is how I'll justify getting to do more studies like this!)
How is this not one of the world's most canonical bad takes? It's perfectly legitimate to criticize, even to the point of condemnation, aspects of technology and industry without abandoning all use of the technology. I mean, obviously?
My dearest Bryce,
I can. And I do. And I will continue to do so. I will use whatever tools exist today however I please to try and bring about the better world I want to live in tomorrow. Now kindly take your fascist “love it or leave it” demagoguery, shove it up your ass, and fuck off out of my mentions. https://infosec.exchange/@NationMeta/112077178052261355

How the Osage Nation helped Martin Scorsese make ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ more authentic
From the White savior narrative at the heart of “Dances With Wolves” to the Indigenous stereotypes in “The Last of the Mohicans,” Hollywood doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to portrayals of Native Americans.

Arrrgggh I was just thinking that maybe playing Minecraft on Easy was maybe too easy, and was shortly after bumped into lava in the Nether by something unseen and died before I could get out or anything, and ended up back in my main base where I re-equipped myself and noticed that I was a little low on both coal and iron, so I went out exploring and found lots of lovely coal and iron and was on the way home again when I stopped to explore a strange bunch of terracotta bricks under a waterfall and ended up somehow falling into the chasm and dying, and then I just ran back to try to find the place again before nightfall, but failed to.
Waaahhhhhh. #minecraft and very much #FirstWorldProblems
There is nothing wrong with outrage based on facts.
Outrage about the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade may will probably keep Biden in the White House.
But manufactured outrage to fuel a for-profit industry is not good for anyone.
It is not good for democracy.
It is not good for the victims.
It is not good for the people trying to put out forest fires of misinformation with a squirt gun of facts.

@glyph I had a lot of people ask for a clock, but they're a bunch of trouble to build out of atoms, so I decided to learn how to write code for the iPhone and built an app. I got it approved by the App Store and now you can get a software-only, free, no ads, no tracking version of the Solar Metric Clock so you always know where the sun is.
