Good for him. This quote from the Republican former GA lieutenant governor sums up my own position as well, except I abandoned the GOP in 2016 when Trump got the nomination, without needing to wait for multiple indictments.

Really fucking annoying that the far right explains what’s happening in Israel as Jews controlling Biden and the far left explains it as Biden being controlled by Jews. It’s all just antisemitism.

And neither side will acknowledge reality: Bibi is an insane war criminal. Israel is not an American colony, it’s a nation that Biden has no control of. It’s completely arrogant and wrong to think either man can control what the other does, or that the Jewish people have any say over any of it.

I’m on a bunch of mailing lists for literary magazines, and a while back, one sent advice for writers which pissed me off. This was directed toward BIPOC writers, and it said that writers should seek to emulate writers like Faulkner and Hemingway with their simple, straightforward language, and not to try writing like Toni Morrison with her rich, poetic style.

Write however you want, folks, but seriously, why would a magazine specifically centred on BIPOC authors elevate a couple of dead white dudes while throwing the Black woman under the bus like that? Grr.

And FWIW, I don’t try to write like anyone but myself.
